Eva Pilgrim replacing Deborah Norville as new anchor of ‘Inside Edition’

Veteran broadcast journalist Eva Pilgrim will serve as the next anchor of the syndicated news magazine Inside Edition, succeeding Deborah Norville.

Charles Lachman, executive producer of the newsmagazine series, announced Pilgrim will be joining the show as the series’ anchor in the fall: “We feel like we won the jackpot to have Eva join our team as the next anchor of ‘ Inside Edition.’ She has solid news chops from her years as a reporter and anchor in national and local news, plus a warm relatability that resonates with audiences. We look forward to having a journalist of her caliber take Inside Edition into its next chapter.”

Norville announced in April that she would be stepping down after 30 years with the show, sharing at the time: “It has been an honor and a privilege to be here at Inside for all these years. A milestone like this is a time for reflection and on reflection I’ve decided that now is the time for me to move on from ‘Inside Edition.’”

Pilgrim most recently served as Senior National Correspondent and co-anchor of GMA3: What You Need to Know for ABC News.  She will take over the anchor chair at Inside Edition this fall, as the news magazine enters its 38th season. Pilgrim said in a statement: “Anchoring ‘Inside Edition’ is truly a dream job. I have been an avid viewer and fan of the show for many years. I’m pinching myself that I get to work with this amazing team. It’s truly an honor to join a show with such a long, rich history.”

Volbeat shares video for ‘Time Will Heal’

Veteran rockers Volbeat have shared the video for “Time Will Heal,” the third single off their upcoming new album God of Angel’s Trust, due out on June 6th. The clip was directed by Julia Patey, with the single serving as the follow-up to the previously-released “By a Monster’s Hand” and “In the Barn of the Goat Giving Birth to Satan’s Spawn in a Dying World of Doom.”

Volbeat – comprised of Poulsen (vocals, guitar), Jon Larsen (drums), and Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass) – will release their ninth album, God Of Angels Trust, on June 6. Pre-order HERE.

Singer-guitarist Michael Poulsen shared in a press release: “Through life, we go through these ups and downs, and sometimes, it’s like turning on a switch and it can change from one minute to another,” says Poulsen. “We suddenly get in a sad, emotional mood where there just doesn’t seem to be a way to see the light or good in anything. But we always find a way to make things good again. I’m good at turning those moments around quickly, but that comes with accepting the good with the bad and using the bad moments to grow and learn instead of letting them bother you more that it should and having your mind manipulate reality. The important thing is to realize that while nothing can be good forever, do not let the dark side of life take over. Have the confidence to know there will be better days ahead when we’re dealing with these moments or demons and we’re struggling to find anything good in what we’re doing … I’m still struggling with the loss of my father. I would say 80 percent of the time I’m coping with the loss and doing well. But then sometimes, I’m falling into these black holes where everything is empty and nothing is fair. I’m so grateful I have kids because when they come into your life, suddenly, everything is not about you. It’s about the kids and you can’t spend too much of your energy being down because they need you. So, it’s been a blessing having kids. It’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”

Volbeat will kick-off their North American tour in Vancouver, BC with Three Days Grace and Wage Ware on June 7th, while their summer tour schedule also finds them sharing stages with the likes of Halestorm and the Ghost Inside.
