Variety reports that Jennifer Aniston is set to star in an Apple TV+ series inspired by actress Jennette McCurdy’s best-selling 2022 memoir, “I’m Glad My Mom Died.”  Apple TV+ has given the show a 10-episode order.

A social post from the Apple TV reads: “Jennifer Aniston stars in a new series based on Jennette McCurdy’s best-selling coming-of-age memoir. #ImGladMyMomDied — New series coming to Apple TV+”

The official logline for the series states: “‘I’m Glad My Mom Died’ is a heartbreaking and hilarious recounting of Jennette McCurdy’s struggles as a former child actor while dealing with her overbearing, domineering mother (Aniston). The dramedy will center on the the codependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit kid’s show, and her narcissistic mother who relishes in her identity as ‘a starlet’s mother,’ set to be played by Aniston.”

McCurdy previously starred in Nickelodeon’s “iCarly,” and “Sam & Cat,” as well as Malcolm in the Middle, Zoey 101, True Jackson, VP and Between.  Her memoir “I’m Glad My Mom Died” quickly topped The New York Times best seller list upon its release, where it remained for over a year.

McCurdy wrote on Instagram: “So excited + honored that i get to create, write, and show-run this show and work with this incredible group of people @appletv @jenniferaniston @sharonhorgan @luckychap”

The series will be written, executive produced and showrun by McCurdy and Ari Katcher; with Aniston, Sharon Horgan and Merman, LuckyChap, Jerrod Carmichael and Erica Kay to executive produce.

Lisa Kudrow’s HBO comedy ‘The Comeback’ to return for final third season

HBO announced the acclaimed comedy series The Comeback, starring and co-created by Lisa Kudrow, is returning for a third and final season on HBO/HBO Max.

The popular series, which also stars Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman and Damian Young, debuted in 2005 and was revived for a second season in 2014; production on its third and final season will begin this summer.

The Comeback first premiered on HBO in June 2005 with 13 episodes, marking Kudrow’s first TV stint post-Friends. Created by Kudrow and Michael Patrick King, the show followed a “B-list actress” named Valerie Cherish [Kudrow] who agrees to “do a reality show that follows her efforts to land a part in a sitcom in this comedy series,” (per an HBO synopsis). The series was first cancelled in September 2005 after just one season, but amassed a cult following and returned for a revival season in 2014. Kudrow and King said in a statement: “Valerie Cherish has found her way back to the current television landscape. Neither of us are surprised she did.”

The series is executive produced by Kudrow and King, alongside John Melfi and Dan Bucatinsky. Amy Gravitt, executive vice president for HBO & Max Comedy Programming, said in a statement: “No matter what the industry throws at her, Valerie Cherish is a survivor. On the 20th Anniversary of her debut, Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow have brilliantly scripted her return to HBO and we can’t wait to see that.”

The Comeback’s third and final season is expected to debut on HBO and HBO Max in 2026.

All Time Low detail fall tour, share video for ‘SUCKERPUNCH’

All Time Low have shared the video for their song “SUCKERPUNCH.”

Frontman Alex Gaskarth shared: “‘SUCKERPUNCH’ is a song about getting knocked down so many times that you learn to wear your bruises like badges. The music and tone of the song are so intentionally steeped in overconfident swagger, while the lyrics tell a very different story about stepping into the ring with an opponent twice your size, waiting for the bell to ring with a smile on your face. I wanted to marry the grit and punch of an arena rock song with moments of Quincy Jones and Genesis. That culminated in a song that felt like kicking the door down, so we knew this had to come out first.”

The band have also announced a U.S. headlining tour, kicking off Oct. 4 in Missoula, Montana. The trek, which features support from Mayday Parade, The Cab, Four Year Strong and The Paradox on select dates, wraps up Nov. 29 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The 30-plus-date outing includes appearances at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Oct 12), When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas (Oct 18 + 19) and Warped Tour in Orlando (Nov 16).

‘Sex and the City’ spinoff ‘And Just Like That…’ ending with Season 3

HBO Max’s ‘Sex and the City’ spinoff ‘And Just Like That…’ is officially ending with Season 3. The Season 3 finale, which will be released on August 14, will now be the series finale.

Showrunner Michael Patrick King confirmed that the series will not be returning for more episodes, and will end after a two-part Season 3 finale. King wrote in a statement: “And just like that … the ongoing storytelling of the Sex And The City universe is coming to an end. While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That season three, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12.”

King also shared why they did not announce the news before the debut of Season 3 in May: “SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”

Series star Sarah Jessica Parker also confirmed the news on her own social media account, sharing her 27-year journey as Carrie Bradshaw, the character she has portrayed in the franchise since the premiere of Sex and the City on HBO in 1998. Parker wrote in part: “Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all. I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her.The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt. To you all. MPK and I together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete. AJLT was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us. I am better for every single day I spent with you .. It will be forever before I forget .. The whole thing.. Thank you all. I love you so. I hope you love these final two episodes as much as we all do.”
