Take a look at the trailer for Foo Fighters film ‘Studio 666’

Foo Fighters have released a trailer for their upcoming horror-comedy film titled Studio 666. In the Studio 666 trailer, the band hunkers down in a San Fernando Valley house to record a new album, where Grohl battles supernatural forces that threaten to derail the project (and becomes possessed in the process).  Studio 666 stars the Foo Fighters (Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel and Rami Jaffee) as well as Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega and Jeff Garlin.

Grohl said of the film: “After decades of ridiculous music videos and numerous music documentaries under our collective belts, it was finally time to take it to the next level…like most things Foo, Studio 666 began with a far fetched idea that blossomed into something bigger than we ever imagined possible.”

Studio 666 will be released on February 25 in theaters.  Take a look at the trailer – here.

Judas Priest announce update in tour plans; decide to hit the road as five-piece band

Less than a week after announcing they would be touring as a four-piece band, Judas Priest have announced that they have changed their minds and will include touring guitarist Andy Sneap in the lineup of their upcoming tour.

Judas Priest had shared earlier this week, “Hello maniacs! We are chomping at the British Steel bit to return to world touring… celebrating 50 years of Judas Priest as an even more powerful, relentless four piece heavy metal band – with Glenn coming out on stage with us here and there as before. Big thanks to Andy for all you’ve done and continuing to be in the production team for our new album… See you all soon headbangers!”  Sneap released a statement after learning the band would be returning to the road as a four-piece, stating that he was “disappointed, but respects their decision.”  He added:  “This always was a temporary situation, and like I’ve said before, I’ll always help the band any way I can, and that applies going forward also.”

However, a more recent update had the band sharing the following: “Hello metal maniacs…given all that has recently evolved and transpired we have decided unanimously as a band to continue our live shows unchanged with Rob, Ian, Richie, Scott, Andy and Glenn joining us whenever he’s able…so see you all soon as we forge ahead celebrating 50 massive heavy metal years of Judas Priest together!”

The band’s 50 Heavy Metal Years North American Tour will feature support from Queensryche on most dates. The tour kicks-off on March 4th in Peoria, IL at the Peoria Civic Theatre and will conclude on April 13th at the First Ontario Centre in Hamilton, Ontario.  The entire tour itinerary can be viewed – here.

Trivium vocalist/guitarist teams up with Testament frontman for new song

Trivium vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy has teamed up with Testament frontman Chuck Billy for the brand new single called “Behold Our Power.” The song was created and released a theme for the upcoming Mythic Festival that will be taking place on June 2nd through 4th at the Gdansk Shipyard in Gdansk, Poland.

Heafy says of the song: “Having had the privilege of playing the incredible Mystic Fest, I knew exactly what the theme of this festival needed to be. Mystic Festival’s energy is electric; its fans some of the best on the planet; its lineup uncanny; and the venue/ backstage/ food/ drinks… everything is perfect. Mystic took incredible care of Trivium and I – so it was easy to craft this behemoth of a song for Mystic. It is our pleasure to present ‘Behold Our Power’ for Mystic Festival.”

The festival will be headlined by Opeth, Judas Priest, and Mercyful Fate and will also feature performance from Killing Joke, Mastodon, Heilung, Saxon Katatonia, Mayhem, Mgła, Solstafir, Igorrr, Obituary, Baroness, Vader and Kvelertak. There will also be a special ‘Warm Up Day’ on June 1st. Warm Up Day acts include Carcass, Decapitated, Heathen, Gaerea, Urne, Lik, Skeletal Remains and Spectral Wound.
