2021 Golden Globes Delayed To Late February

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) have confirmed that the 2021 Golden Globes have been pushed back a month from the traditional early January window to Sunday, February 28th 2021.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will return as hosts with the ceremony expected to remain at The Beverly Hilton. The news follows recent postponements by the Oscars. The HFPA confirmed back in March that films wouldn’t need a theatrical release to qualify and “may instead be released first on a television format (e.g. subscription streaming service, subscription cable channel, broadcast television, etc.).”

Kurt Cobain’s Acoustic ‘MTV Unplugged’ Guitar Sells For Record $6M

A guitar played by Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain on a famous 1993 unplugged album has been sold at auction for $6 million, setting a new record. The guitar was famous for having been played on Nirvana’s 1993 “MTV Unplugged” performance. The subsequent live album is one of the grunge band’s only acoustic recordings. The guitar was played on November 18, 1993, less than five months before Cobain committed suicide at the age of 27.

The guitar, a 1959 Martin D-18E, was sold to Australian Peter Freedman, owner of Rode Microphones. Other items sold at the auction included a guitar owned by Prince, a belt worn by Elvis Presley and a gown worn by Madonna.  The previous record for the most expensive guitar was set in 2019, when Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmor’s instrument was sold for around $4 million.

Ansel Elgort Responds to Sexual Assault Allegation, Says the Relationship Was Consensual

Ansel Elgort has responded to allegations that he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl back in 2014. The 26-year-old actor took to Instagram to release a statement after a girl named Gabby alleged on Twitter that he assaulted her.

“I was distressed to see the social media posts about me that have been circulating in the past 24 hours,” Ansel wrote. “I cannot claim to understand Gabby’s feelings but her description of events is simply not what happened. I have never and would never assault anyone.” The day before, Gabby detailed an alleged situation that occurred after meeting Ansel online. The account where the story was posted has now been deleted.

Ansel continued to share his side of his relationship with Gabby, saying that it was “entirely consensual,” and concluded: “As I look back at my attitude, I am disgusted and deeply ashamed of the way I acted. I am truly sorry. I know I must continue to reflect, learn, and work to grow in empathy.”

Kristen Stewart To Play Princess Diana In New Film Titled ‘Spencer’

Kristen Stewart has been cast as Princess Diana in an upcoming film titled Spencer.

According to Deadline, the film “covers a critical weekend in the early ‘90s, when Diana decided her marriage to Prince Charles wasn’t working, and that she needed to veer from a path that put her in line to one day be queen.” The couple separated in 1992, before getting divorced in 1996. Diana died one year later in a car crash in Paris.

Director Pablo Larraín says Steward has the qualities necessary to play Diana, adding, “to do this well, you need something very important in film, which is mystery. Kristen can be many things, and she can be very mysterious and very fragile and ultimately very strong as well, which is what we need. The combination of those elements made me think of her. The way she responded to the script and how she is approaching the character, it’s very beautiful to see. I think she’s going to do something stunning and intriguing at the same time. She is this force of nature.”
