David Ellefson to sue for defamation over leaked videos which forced his firing from Megadeth

David Ellefson, the former Megadeth bassist, is looking to file a lawsuit against the individual who uploaded explicit videos of him online.  Earlier this month, leaked footage of what Ellefson called “personal conversations and interactions” were posted on Twitter by an anonymous user. The bassist has repeatedly denied suggestions that he had ‘groomed’ an underage fan, but admitted on Instagram that “private, adult interactions” had taken place, which he claimed were “taken out of context and manipulated to inflict maximum damage to my reputation, my career and family.”  The woman involved also came forward to deny the suggestion that she was underage at the time the video calls took place, to say that she initiated their online interactions, and also to deny that she was ‘groomed‘ by Ellefson.  “I was always a consenting adult,” she stated. “Nothing inappropriate ever happened before that. It was all consensual, I’m not a victim and I have not been groomed in the slightest as I was the one to initiate it.”

As a direct consequence of the controversy over the leaked footage, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine announced earlier this week that the group were parting ways with Ellefson, who originally joined the band in 1983. “While we do not know every detail of what occurred, with an already strained relationship, what has already been revealed now is enough to make working together impossible moving forward,” Mustaine wrote.

Brad Pitt granted joint custody of his children with ex-wife Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt has been granted joint custody of the 6 children he shares with ex-wife Angelina Jolie. The news comes after a years-long legal battle between the former couple, who share Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shilo, 14, Vivienne, 12, and Knox, 12.

Judge John Ouderkirk’s ruling found that Jolie’s testimony lacked credibility in many important areas and that the existing custody order must be modified in the best interest of the children. Jolie, who filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016, initially wanted primary custody, while Pitt requested joint custody.  Jolie, in a Monday court filing, said that she would appeal such a decision from Judge Ouderkirk, whom she previously requested be removed from the case. That request was denied in November. In Jolie’s Monday filing, she criticized Judge Ouderkirk for, she claimed, denying her “a fair trial, improperly excluding her evidence relevant to the children’s health, safety, and welfare, evidence critical to making her case.” The actress also claimed the judge “has failed to adequately consider” a section of the California courts code, which says it is detrimental to the best interest of the child if custody is awarded to a person with a history of domestic violence.

In a March court filing, Jolie claimed to have “proof” of alleged domestic violence against Pitt. Pitt was cleared of allegations of child abuse by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Child and Family Services back in 2016.

Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson underwent successful hip replacement surgery

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has revealed he underwent hip replacement surgery after being diagnosed with osteoarthritis. Known for his energetic live performances that see him run and jump all over the stage, Dickinson revealed he was in agony on the band’s ‘Legacy of the Beast World Tour’, which began in 2018, and couldn’t even “walk properly.”

Bruce said: “I put it down to the fact that during the last tour, just shortly before the last tour, I also broke my Achilles as well — my Achilles tendon snapped … It’s horrible. That was two years ago, basically. So I got that stitched back together and went out on tour three and a half months later. I couldn’t actually walk properly or run. So I modified what I did on stage, and nobody figured it out. I was amazed. I did the whole tour — South America, the whole lot — and I ran around. But my hip was giving me so much s***. And I put it down to the fact that people were telling me, ‘You’re compensating for the other leg,’ and everything else, and I thought, ‘Oh, yeah. That’s it, then.'”

Dickinson said he tried to treat the pain with Ibuprofen before finally asking if he could have hip surgery before the band’s next tour. Dickinson says it was the best decision he’s ever made, adding: “I was getting addicted to Ibuprofen and all the rest of it, and it p***** me off so much. I was just, like, ‘Look, it’s not gonna get any better, is it?’ And he went, ‘No.’ So I said, ‘It’s October. When the safety car comes out, [Lewis] Hamilton goes in for fresh tires. So let’s do it now in October, because I might have a tour next year.’ Little did I know. But being an eternal optimist, it was the best thing I’ve done. So now, with my new hip, I’m back to fencing again. It’s absolutely incredible. I’ve been doing physio and doing weights that I haven’t done since I was 16 or 17 years old. I’m squatting a hundred kilos. It’s mental what your body can do.”
