Emmy and Golden Globe winner Brian Cox is stepping into a major role in Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection, taking on the chilling character known as the New York Ripper.

Cox will portray Dom Framt, a notorious serial killer who once terrorized New York City. Though no longer committing murders, “Though no longer active as a killer, he’s found a new way to live into his infamy by continuing to taunt the survivors of his long-ago murder spree,” according to the official description. The character was teased in Season 1 but never appeared on screen, with clues about his identity uncovered by Dexter Morgan.

Played by Michael C. Hall, Dexter returns alongside his son Harrison (Jack Alcott) and the ever-present influence of his late father Harry (James Remar). The story continues weeks after Dexter survives being shot by Harrison, waking from a coma to find his son missing. Determined to fix their fractured relationship, Dexter heads to New York — but his past quickly resurfaces, especially with Miami Metro’s Angel Batista closing in.

Season 1 revealed Dexter had discovered Framt’s identity through a file hidden among the possessions of Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage), setting up the killer’s larger role moving forward. As father and son confront their shared darkness, they’re drawn deeper into danger, with escape proving far from simple.

The series remains under the guidance of showrunner Clyde Phillips, with Hall and a team of executive producers returning. A premiere date for Season 2 has not yet been announced, while Season 1 is currently streaming on Paramount+.

Netflix is growing the world of Nobody Wants This ahead of its third season, bringing in nine new recurring and guest stars while continuing the story of Joanne and Noah’s unconventional romance.

The series, led by Kristen Bell as podcaster Joanne and Adam Brody as Rabbi Noah, follows the unlikely couple as they navigate love despite their very different backgrounds. Returning alongside Bell and Brody are familiar faces from the ensemble, including Lupe as Morgan, Timothy Simons as Noah’s brother Sasha, and Jackie Tohn as Esther.

After the events of Season 2, their relationship is deepening — but not without complications. According to the official synopsis, Joanne and Noah return “and fully committed to merging their lives – and loved ones — together. But their differences still exist and can’t be ignored. The challenge now is not just falling in love against all odds, but staying together in spite of them.”

Among the biggest additions is Sarah Silverman, who takes on the role of Rabbi Eden, a teacher leading an introductory Judaism course. Andrew Rannells joins as Sebastien, a rival figure who clashes with Joanne during her conversion journey. Keyla Monterroso Mejia will appear as Amber, a fellow student in the class who is determined to find a Jewish partner.

Several guest stars are also set to appear: Steven Weber plays Julian, a confident and humorous divorced father, while Avan Jogia portrays Travis, another character who creates tension for Joanne. Sadie Sandler steps in as Denise, a psychic visited by Joanne’s sister Morgan, played by Justine Lupe. Additional appearances include Poorna Jagannathan as Eleanor and Stephanie Koenig as Poppy. Series creator Erin Foster will also appear on screen as Nicole, described as a ‘chaotic and perpetually single woman.’

Season 3 is set to premiere on Netflix later this year.

Two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks is stepping into new historical territory, taking on the role of Abraham Lincoln in the upcoming adaptation of Lincoln in the Bardo. The project, backed by Starburns Industries, marks the first time Hanks will portray a U.S. president on screen. Hanks will also serve as a producer through his Playtone banner alongside longtime collaborator Gary Goetzman.

The film is based on the acclaimed novel by George Saunders, a New York Times bestseller and 2017 Booker Prize winner. Saunders is adapting his own book for the screen. Directing and producing is Oscar-nominated filmmaker Duke Johnson, known for Anomalisa. Production is scheduled to begin in London and will be the first project to move forward under Starburns’ newly launched film fund.

While Lincoln’s leadership during the Civil War and his role in ending slavery have frequently been depicted on screen, notably in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln (which earned Daniel Day-Lewis an Oscar),  this adaptation takes a far more intimate approach. Rather than focusing on the battlefield or political milestones, the story centers on the president’s grief following the death of his 11-year-old son.

Blending live-action with stop-motion animation, the film will explore “themes of love, empathy and human capacity in the face of unimaginable grief.” The narrative unfolds through a wide-ranging ensemble of characters, both living and dead, historical and imagined, offering a deeply personal lens on one of America’s most studied leaders.

FX has confirmed that The Bear will conclude with its upcoming fifth season, arriving June 25—sooner than many expected. All eight episodes will drop at once on Hulu at 9 p.m. ET, marking exactly one year since Season 4 debuted. The final chapter will also air on FX’s cable channel, beginning with a two-episode premiere and continuing weekly through early August.

Created by Christopher Storer, the acclaimed series follows gifted chefs Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) and Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) as they transform a modest Chicago sandwich shop into a high-end dining destination. Over its run, the show has become an awards powerhouse, collecting 21 Primetime Emmys and earning widespread praise for its performances and storytelling.

Season 5 begins immediately after the Season 4 finale, when Sydney, Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Natalie “Sugar” (Abby Elliott) realize Carmy has stepped away from the restaurant—and the industry entirely. Left to run the struggling business themselves, the team faces mounting pressure, including financial strain, the risk of losing the restaurant, and a looming storm. As they push toward one final service in hopes of earning a Michelin star, they’re forced to reconsider what truly defines success. In the end, they come to understand that what makes a restaurant “perfect” might not be the food, but the people.

The announcement follows the unexpected release of “Gary,” a prequel episode. The flashback centers on Richie and Carmy’s late brother, Mikey (Jon Bernthal), during a trip from Chicago to Gary, Indiana. Written by Moss-Bachrach and Bernthal and directed by Storer, the episode explores the pair’s layered friendship through a series of candid moments—visiting local spots, playing basketball, and opening up about their personal struggles. Mikey’s eventual death remains the emotional catalyst that set the entire series in motion.

Alongside White, Edebiri, Elliott, Moss-Bachrach, and Bernthal, the ensemble includes Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson, with recurring appearances from Oliver Platt, Will Poulter, Ricky Staffieri, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for its upcoming psychological thriller limited series, Cape Fear, starring Javier Bardem, Amy Adams, and Patrick Wilson.

The 10-episode series reimagines the classic story made famous by the 1991 film directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro. That movie draws inspiration from John D. MacDonald’s 1957 novel The Executioners, which first became a 1962 Universal Pictures film starring Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum, and later the 1991 Scorsese remake featuring De Niro and Nick Nolte. This new adaptation revisits the story for a modern audience, promising suspense, psychological tension, and a chilling portrayal of vengeance.

The series follows married attorneys Anna (Adams) and Tom Bowden (Wilson), whose lives are upended when Max Cady (Bardem), the notorious killer they helped incarcerate, is released and seeks revenge: “A storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is let out of prison — and he wants vengeance.” Supporting cast members include CCH Pounder, Joe Anders, Lily Collias, Jamie Hector, Malia Pyles, and Anna Baryshnikov.

Created and executive produced by Nick Antosca, the new drama is described as a suspense-filled, Hitchcock-style thriller that also explores modern America’s fascination with true crime. Steven Spielberg and Scorsese — both of whom were involved in the 1991 film remake of Cape Fear — serve as executive producers, along with Bardem and Adam.

The series debuts June 5 with two episodes, followed by weekly releases every Friday through July 31.  See the trailer: HERE.

Tom Hardy is not expected to continue with Paramount+’s crime drama MobLand if the series moves forward with a third season, according to multiple reports. While Season 2 has already finished filming and is set for a fall release, Hardy’s long-term involvement now appears unlikely following reported behind-the-scenes friction.

Sources say the actor, who portrays fixer Harry Da Souza, completed filming on Season 2 but experienced ongoing issues on set involving executive producer and writer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios, and others involved in production. Reports also point to repeated tension tied to Hardy’s punctuality, as well as strained relationships with some cast members.

Different outlets have offered slightly varying accounts of his status. Some indicate he was not invited back after production wrapped, while others describe his future on the series as undecided. Paramount+ has not officially confirmed plans for a third season or addressed Hardy’s role moving forward.

Hardy stars alongside Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren in the series, which follows the powerful Harrigan crime family as internal rivalries and external threats push their empire toward collapse. Brosnan plays family patriarch Conrad Harrigan, with Mirren as Maeve Harrigan and Paddy Considine as their son Kevin.

Created by Ronan Bennett and executive produced by Guy Ritchie, MobLand became a major streaming success after its debut last year, ranking as Paramount+’s second-biggest original series launch, behind Landman. It was later renewed for a second season in June 2025 after drawing more than 26 million viewers.

Season 2, which wrapped filming in March, continues the story of competing mob factions in a violent struggle for control, with an ensemble cast that also includes Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Jasmine Jobson, Mandeep Dhillon, Geoff Bell, Daniel Betts, Lisa Dwan, and Emily Barber.
