Riley Green shares new song ‘My Way’ amid acting debut on CBS’s ‘Marshals’

Country artist Riley Green is branching into acting with a role in CBS’s Western drama Marshals, while also contributing new music to the series. His self-written track “My Way,” produced by Dann Huff, will be featured in the show and performed on-screen during the April 26 episode.

Green previously previewed “My Way” during recent performances in Australia, including stops in Sydney and Melbourne as well as the CMC Rocks festival.  He made his first appearance on the April 19 episode of the series portraying Garrett, a former Navy SEAL and past teammate of Kayce Dutton and Pete Calvin. His character arrives in Montana seeking closure from his past, turning to old allies for support.

Marshals centers on Luke Grimes returning as Kayce Dutton, who leaves the Yellowstone Ranch behind to join a specialized unit of U.S. Marshals. Drawing on his background as both a cowboy and Navy SEAL, Kayce works to combat crime across Montana while grappling with the emotional strain of the job and his responsibilities at home. The team includes Pete Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means). Key figures in Kayce’s personal life—his son Tate (Brecken Merrill) and trusted allies Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham)—remain central to his story.

The drama follows Kayce as he “leaves Yellowstone Ranch to join U.S. Marshals, using his cowboy and military skills to fight crime in Montana while dealing with family ties and the mental toll of law enforcement.” The show premiered to strong numbers, drawing more than 20 million viewers across platforms.

Outside of television, Green is currently on his Cowboy As It Gets Tour, which kicked off with sold-out shows in Australia. The run continues across the U.S. through the summer, highlighted by a sold-out headlining date at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and an upcoming appearance at the Stagecoach Festival.

Hulu orders ‘The X-Files’ reboot from Ryan Coogler, starring Danielle Deadwyler

Hulu is moving forward with a fresh chapter of The X-Files, officially granting a pilot order to a reboot spearheaded by Ryan Coogler. The filmmaker will write and direct the episode, with Danielle Deadwyler tapped as one of the two central FBI agents.

The original The X-Files debuted on Fox in 1993, running nine seasons and spawning two feature films before a brief revival in 2016. The series starred Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny as FBI agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder, investigating paranormal mysteries.

The updated series centers on “Two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents form an unlikely bond when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.” While the premise echoes the original’s paranormal investigations, the new version is expected to reflect a contemporary lens.

Behind the scenes, Jennifer Yale has joined as showrunner and executive producer. Original creator Chris Carter will serve as a non-writing executive producer alongside Coogler and his Proximity Media partners, Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler. Simone Harris is co-executive producing, with casting led by Francine Maisler.

The project has been in development for roughly three years and falls under Coogler’s overall television deal with Disney, the parent company of Hulu and 20th Television. Coogler later confirmed his involvement, sharing, “I’ve been excited about that for a long time, and I’m fired up to get back to it. Some of those episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really f*cking scary. We’re gonna try to make something really great and really be something for the real X-Files fans, and maybe find some new ones.”

Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine to release third memoir ‘In My Darkest Hour’

Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine is set to release his third memoir, In My Darkest Hour, on September 8 through Da Capo Press. The book offers a personal look at his life following a 2019 diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma at the base of his tongue, tracing his path through treatment, recovery, and his return to music.

Co-written with The New York Times journalist Joe Layden —who previously collaborated with Mustaine on his 2010 autobiography Rust In Peacethe memoir continues the artist’s tradition of documenting pivotal moments in his life and career. While his earlier books explored his rise in thrash metal and the making of landmark records, this latest installment focuses on one of his most difficult personal battles.

Mustaine shared: “My new book, “In My Darkest Hour,” releases on September 8th. One of most harrowing experiences of my adult life has been my seven-year journey through cancer treatment and onward into remission. This story is considerably more than just go to the doctor, get diagnosed, get treatment and hopefully I live happily ever after. This was a journey of me saving myself, staying alive, keeping my family together, and continuing to make music through it all.”

The memoir provides a front-row view of Mustaine’s life during treatment, showing how he balanced radiation and chemotherapy sessions with hours-long recording sessions. Beyond the medical struggle, the book follows the making of Megadeth’s 2022 album The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!

Ben Schafer, executive editor at Da Capo Press, emphasizes the memoir’s candidness: “In My Darkest Hour is Dave Mustaine at his most revealing, vulnerable and true. With lacerating honesty and soulful reflection, he speaks to the universal human experience of facing serious illness and how it changes a person, their family and friends, and one’s relationship with creativity.”

The memoir release arrives during a major turning point for Megadeth. After more than four decades in the thrash metal scene, the band has launched a farewell tour alongside their final studio album, a self-titled record that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Mustaine previously explained that the decision to retire was influenced not only by timing, but also by ongoing health concerns, including Dupuytren’s contracture, a condition affecting his hands and ability to play guitar. The band resumed touring with dates across South and Central America beginning in April.  For tour info, head: HERE.

Sevendust shares animated video for “Threshold” ahead of new album release

Sevendust have dropped the new single, “Threshold,” taken from their upcoming 15th studio album, ONE, set for release on May 1. The track arrives with an animated music video, crafted by returning animator Ollie Jones, continuing the storyline introduced in 2023’s ‘Fence’ video.

The video follows a greedy music agent who pressures a management team to exhume the decayed members of Sevendust and send them back on tour. Reanimated with the same mysterious substance that revived them before, the band is forced into a tour designed to line the agent’s pockets. The story concludes with the band under his control, leaving their next move unknown: “what happens next is anyone’s guess.”

Frontman Lajon Witherspoon leads the track with emotionally charged vocals, confronting those who push others to the brink: “You want another piece of me, don’t ya? To break apart so you get what you wanted?” Guitarists Clint Lowery and John Connolly, bassist Vince Hornsby, and drummer Morgan Rose deliver the heavy grooves and melodic intensity that have defined Sevendust’s three-decade career.

ONE also features previously released songs “Unbreakable” and “Is This the Real You” and will accompany the band’s U.S. tour, which just kicked off April 16 in Carterville, Illinois, with select dates opening for Alter Bridge.

Michael Fassbender to portray matriarch in Netflix’s ‘Kennedy’ series

Michael Fassbender is set to take on the role of Joseph “Joe” Kennedy Sr. in Kennedy, an upcoming drama series from Netflix that will dive into the origins of one of America’s most storied families.

The streamer posted on X: “Michael Fassbender will star as Joe Kennedy Sr. in KENNEDY — a new series tracing the lives, loves, rivalries, and tragedies of the most iconic dynasty in modern history. Beginning in the 1930s, the first season charts the improbable ascent of Joe and Rose Kennedy and their nine children.”

Created by Sam Shaw and backed by Chernin Entertainment, the show will chronicle the Kennedys’ rise during the 1930s, focusing on their relationships, ambitions, and internal conflicts. The first season centers on Joe and his wife Rose as they build their legacy while raising their nine children—including a young John F Kennedy, portrayed as a rebellious figure trying to step out from his older brother’s shadow. Laura Donnelly will play Joe’s wife Rose and mother of their nine children.

Netflix said in a statement that “the new drama series, now in production, explores the lives, loves, rivalries and tragedies that shaped the most iconic dynasty in modern history.” The project draws inspiration from JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century, 1917–1956, the acclaimed biography by Fredrik Logevall, offering a deeper, more personal look at the family behind their larger-than-life public image.

Shaw emphasized the balance between myth and reality in the story, saying, “The story of the Kennedys is the closest we have to American mythology — somewhere between Shakespeare and The Bold and the Beautiful,” adding that the source material uncovers the emotional struggles and complexities beneath that legend.

Acclaimed director Thomas Vinterberg, known for Another Round, is attached to helm the series, which is planned as an ongoing production. With a strong creative team and a focus on both personal drama and historical context, Kennedy aims to present a layered portrait of a family whose influence continues to shape American culture and politics.

See the trailer for ‘Fuze’ starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James

The first trailer for Fuze previews a tense race against time as authorities scramble to respond after a World War II bomb is uncovered beneath a construction site in modern-day London. The discovery forces officials to evacuate a large section of the city while bomb disposal teams work to secure the dangerous device.

In the film, Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays a bomb disposal expert attempting to prevent catastrophe as the crisis unfolds. But the widespread confusion also creates the perfect distraction for a carefully planned robbery. As emergency crews clear the area and panic spreads, a criminal operation quietly begins to take shape. Theo James and Sam Worthington appear to be connected to the elaborate scheme, which uses the evacuation as cover for the high-risk heist. The ensemble cast also includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Saffron Hocking and Elham Ehsas.

The film’s official description reads: “Set in contemporary London, Fuze unfolds after an unexploded World War II bomb is unearthed at a busy construction site, forcing a massive citywide evacuation. Amid the escalating tension and chaos, a daring criminal operation is set in motion—one that uses the evacuation as cover for a meticulously planned heist. As authorities race against time to contain the crisis, alliances blur, and moral boundaries are crossed, the film deftly propels audiences through a series of calculated twists, delivering a wildly entertaining ride.”

The thriller is directed by David Mackenzie, known for Hell or High Water and Outlaw King, marking a reunion with Taylor-Johnson following their previous collaboration. Written by Ben Hopkins, the movie premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and will open in North American theaters on April 24.

The 14th edition of Aftershock Festival returns to Discovery Park from October 1–4, 2026. Organizers have confirmed the event’s most ambitious lineup yet: more than 140 acts spread across five stages, making it the largest installment in the festival’s history.

Headlining the weekend are My Chemical Romance, Tool, Limp Bizkit, and Pierce The Veil, each closing out a different night.

  • Opening day – Thursday, October 1 – will feature My Chemical Romance, joined by The Offspring and Sublime, along with fan favorites like The Pretty Reckless, The Used, Killswitch Engage, New Found Glory, and Sevendust.
  • Friday shifts gears with Limp Bizkit at the top of a stacked bill that includes Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, $uicideboy$, and Insane Clown Posse, blending rock and hip-hop influences.
  • On Saturday, Pierce The Veil steps into a headlining role for the first time at the festival, supported by A Day To Remember, BABYMETAL, Black Label Society, Sleeping With Sirens, and Circa Survive.
  • Tool closes the festival on Sunday, October 4, following performances from Queens of the Stone Age, Danny Elfman, AFI, Stone Temple Pilots, and Suicidal Tendencies, among many others spanning metal, punk, emo, and nu-metal.

Festival founder Danny Wimmer described the upcoming edition as transformative, saying, “This year’s Aftershock marks a bold new chapter for the festival. We’ve brought together metal, punk, emo, and nu-metal to create a lineup that’s raw, youthful, and unapologetic.  With Tool anchoring the weekend and Pierce the Veil making their headlining debut, we’re breaking boundaries and redefining what Aftershock can be.” He also emphasized the debut of on-site camping — a long-requested feature designed to turn the gathering into a fully immersive, four-day destination.

Beyond the music, Aftershock continues to provide a major boost to the local economy. According to Visit Sacramento President and CEO Mike Testa, the festival generates more than $39 million annually for the region. Testa said:  “Aftershock continues to be a seminal moment for Sacramento, not just for the fans, but for the people who live and work here every day. The festival brings thousands of people to our city for four incredible days, generating more than $39 million in economic impact. Those dollars translate into critical support for our business community and civic partners. Maybe the best part is that Aftershock fans are often discovering Sacramento while they’re here and are making their experience synonymous with the city. We’re grateful for our partnership with DWP and can’t wait to welcome everyone back later this fall.”

Four-day and single-day passes are currently available at the Aftershock website.

Foo Fighters are previewing their upcoming 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy with their new song “Of All People.”

‘Of All People’ follows the previously-released tracks “Caught In The Echo,” “Asking for a Friend,” and the title track – with additional material already teased live.

Frontman Dave Grohl shares of the latest track“‘Asking For A Friend’ is a song for those who have waited patiently in the cold, relying on hope and faith for their horizon to appear. Searching for ‘proof’ when hanging by a wish until the sun shines again. One of many songs to come…”

Grohl continued: “Since our return to the stage in San Luis Obispo five weeks ago, we have been reminded of why we love and are forever devoted to doing this Foo Fighters thing. From reuniting as a band and staring at a list of 30 years worth of songs to brush off, to reimagining versions with the incredible blessing of the one and only Ilan Rubin behind the drums, to reconnecting with our amazing fans and blasting them with everything we’ve got (no matter the size of the venue) because we would not be here without them, we have the most solid core. And the sun is finally rising over the horizon. What better way to share the view than with close friends?”

Your Favorite Toy, dropping April 24, marks the band’s first full-length release since 2023’s But Here We Are, and introduces drummer Ilan Rubin as a full-time member following his addition to the lineup last year (Foo Fighters’ current lineup includes Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Smear, Rami Jaffee, and Rubin).

The album rollout will also set the stage for the band’s expansive Take Cover World Tour, with support from Queens of the Stone Age and select appearances by Mannequin Pussy and Gouge Away.  Due to popular demand the band added an additional show April 28 show at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut prior to the official tour launch on June 10 at Unity Arena in Oslo. Take a look at the trailer for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has arrived, offering a fresh look at Tom Holland’s return as the iconic web-slinger ahead of the film’s July 31 theatrical debut.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the fourth standalone ‘Spider-Man’ film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe picks up four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Peter Parker is now living in total anonymity after choosing to erase himself from everyone’s memory — including MJ and his best friend Ned — in order to save the multiverse.

The story follows Peter as he navigates adulthood completely alone, dedicating himself fully to protecting New York City. But as crime escalates and new dangers emerge, he begins experiencing unsettling physical changes tied to his powers. At the same time, a growing pattern of threats leads him toward one of the most formidable enemies he’s ever faced. As the trailer puts it, “Sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard thing, even if it breaks Peter Parker’s heart.”

Still grieving the loss of Aunt May and cut off from his past life, Peter tries to rebuild while embracing his role as a full-time hero. Along the way, he joins forces with Bruce Banner and Frank Castle, also known as the Hulk and the Punisher, while also encountering the return of Mac Gargan, aka Scorpion.

Holland is joined once again by Zendaya as MJ, though her role is expected to be smaller this time around. Returning cast members include Jacob Batalon, while newcomers such as Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Marvin Jones II — who plays crime boss Tombstone — expand the ensemble.

The film also marks Holland’s seventh appearance as Spider-Man in the MCU and is currently slated as his final solo outing under his existing contract. It is expected to connect to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, further setting the stage for Marvel’s next phase.
