Kevin Spacey cast in first film since sexual assault allegations

Kevin Spacey has been cast in his first film role since sexual misconduct allegations against him emerged in late 2017.  Spacey is set to star opposite Vanessa Redgrave in “L’uomo Che Disegno Dio” (translated to “The Man Who Drew God” in English), directed by her husband Franco Nero.  Nero is best known as an actor in films like “Django Unchained,” “Die Hard 2,” and “John Wick: Chapter 2.”  The film is reportedly about a blind artist who acquires a godlike ability to draw portraits of people based on only hearing their voices, skyrocketing him to fame. Spacey will appear in a small role in the movie as a police detective, while Redgrave will be making a cameo as a piano teacher.

“The Man Who Drew God” will mark Spacey’s first big-screen role in nearly four years since Anthony Rapp alleged that Spacey made an inappropriate sexual advance on him when he was 14. More than a dozen more alleged victims came forward, including filmmaker Tony Montana, as well as Richard Dreyfuss’ son Harry. The allegations cost Spacey his role as President Frank Underwood in Netflix’s “House of Cards.” In 2018, Spacey was charged with indecent assault involving an alleged 2016 incident with a teenager on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts. He pled not guilty, and the charges were later dropped. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office declined to file charges against Spacey for two other alleged incidents.

Robert Plant makes plans for unreleased songs to be released after his death

Robert Plant said he has no plans to release any of his archived music until after his death. The 72-year-old Led Zeppelin legend revealed to Matt Everitt on the latest episode of Plant’s Digging Deep podcast that he “itemized” his archive during lockdown and it contains a wide range of recordings from abandoned projects, along with personal paperwork.

Plant said that arranging his archive was a case of “putting my house in order. … All the adventures I’ve ever had with music, tours, album releases, projects that didn’t actually get finished or whatever it is, I just put them, itemized them all and put everything into some semblance of order. … I told the kids that when I kick the bucket, open it to the public – free of charge – just to see how many silly things there were down the line from 1966 to now: the journey.” He added:  “I don’t care what happens to it, it’s just great to hear it again.” When Everitt said, “One day … ,” Plant replied: “I don’t know whether there’s a ‘one day’ around the corner, to be honest!”
