On Monday, Chrissie Hynde announced her upcoming album of Bob Dylan covers titled Standing in the Doorway: Chrissie Hynde Sings Bob Dylan. The LP will be out on May 21st.

In a statement, Hynde explains that she recorded the album during the Covid-19 lockdown with her Pretenders bandmate James Walbourne: “A few weeks into lockdown last year, James sent me the new Dylan track ‘Murder Most Foul.’ Listening to that song completely changed everything for me. I was lifted out of this morose mood that I’d been in. I remember where I was sitting the day that Kennedy was shot — every reference in the song. Whatever Bob does, he still manages somewhere in there to make you laugh because as much as anything, he’s a comedian. He’s always funny and always has something to say. That’s when I called James and said, ‘Let’s do some Dylan covers’ and that’s what started this whole thing.”=

The album will be accompanied by a television special, Tomorrow Is a Long Time, which will premiere Monday, May 24th (which happens to be Dylan’s 80th birthday).

Evanescence and Halestorm are teaming up for a full arena tour in 2021, kicking off Nov. 5 in Portland, Oregon and running through Dec. 18 in Worchester, MA.

The two bands have previously collaborated together, in 2020, Hale sang back-up vocals on Evanescence’s “Use My Voice,” while Lee joined Hale on a new rendition of Halestorm’s 2012 single “Break In.”

On May 13, Evanescence will also play live “Driven to Perform” Cooper Tire livestream concert, including songs off the band’s recent fifth album The Bitter Truth.  You can register for the free livestream concert here.

General on-sale starts Friday at 10 a.m. local time. Limited VIP packages will also be available for purchase that include premium seating.

Myles Kennedy has released the video for Love Rain Down, taken from upcoming solo album The Ides Of March which is set to drop on May 14.

Love Rain Down follows a few other tracks released from the upcoming album, including In Stride, which was released in February; the title track, which dropped in March, and Get Along, which debuted last month.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are reportedly selling the rights to their song catalog for $140 million. The band is selling the publishing rights to its songs to London-based music investment firm Hipgnosis, Variety reported. 

The Chili Peppers’ catalogue was largely penned by the band’s key members, lead singer Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith and guitarist John Frusciante.

The Chili Peppers are the latest big-name act to sell their catalogue. Last year, Bob Dylan sold his 600-song catalogue for more than $300 million to Universal Music, and Stevie Nicks sold hers to Primary Wave for $100 million.

Nine Inch Nails has teamed up with Health for their noise new single “Isn’t Everyone”.  The track was produced by Health and Nine Inch Nails, and mixed by Atticus Ross.

“Isn’t Everyone” follows the release of Health’s fifth album, Disco 4: Part 1 in 2020, a collection of the collaborations by the L.A.-based band since 2017—featuring 100 gecs, JPEGMAFIA, Soccer Mommy, Full of Hell, Ghostemane—and the band’s 2019 album, Vol. 4: Slaves of Fear and score for Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto Online: Arena War Official Soundtrack.
