Take a look at Dwayne Johnson in the latest trailer for ‘Black Adam’

Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new trailer for the upcoming film Black Adam, the latest DC Extended Universe film starring Dwayne Johnson in the titular role. Black Adam also stars Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan.

The trailer shows Black Adam (Johnson) angry and in despair after his son is killed, which fuels his quest for vengeance. Black Adam says in a voiceover:  “these powers are not a gift…but a curse…born out of rage.” Also shown for the first time in the trailer is the Justice Society, a superhero team first seen in the DC Comics, who hope to negotiate a peaceful surrender with Black Adam.  Black Adam tells the Justice Society: “I’m not peaceful. Nor do I surrender. I kneel before no one.”

Paramore add more dates to their upcoming U.S. Tour

Paramore have added more dates to their upcoming U.S. tour of intimate venues this fall, announcing two Los Angeles dates to their run of shows.

The new L.A. shows include a date on October 20th at The Wiltern with support from Faux Real; and a show on October 27th at The Belasco with support from Elke.

Claud will be the supporting act on their first run of shows in Bakersfield, Magna, Omaha, Oklahoma City and Chesterfield. Young the Giant, Japanese Breakfast and Claud will join the band for a very special show in Bonner Springs. Ogi will be supporting for the remainder of the dates after the Los Angeles shows with Faux Real and Elke.

Lamb of God share the song ‘Grayscale’ from their upcoming LP, ‘Omens’

Lamb of God have released the new single “Grayscale,” the third song from their forthcoming LP, Omens, due October 7th.   You can listen to “Grayscale” – here.

“Grayscale” follows the title track, “Omens,” and the album’s first single, “Nevermore,” which collected more than one million views on YouTube and over one million streams on Spotify shortly after its release earlier this summer.  Guitarist Willie Adler said of the track: “‘Grayscale’ has just a smack you in the face, bit of hardcore feel to it We had basically finished writing the record and I wrote this song thinking it won’t necessarily be a Lamb song. I sent it to Josh Wilbur, our producer, to check out and he responded with ‘Perfect, this is the last song we need for the record!’”

Physical CD and vinyl releases will include a free access code to watch the livestream viewing of The Making of Omens documentary, which will premiere the week of album release. The group’s webstore also features exclusive Omens merchandise, including shirts, hoodies, and signed CDs with an alternate color cover.

2022 Primetime Emmy Awards: See the full list of winners

The 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards took place Monday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, airing live on NBC. The 74th annual ceremony, hosted by Saturday Night Live’s Kenan Thompson, also streamed on Peacock.

Ted Lasso, The White Lotus, and Succession were the big winners of the evening. Ted Lasso was voted Best Comedy, and Jason Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein won for Best Lead Actor and Supporting Actor in a Comedy respectively. Best Actress in a Comedy was awarded to Jean Smart for Hacks; and Sheryl Lee Ralph won the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy award for Abbott Elementary, which also scored the Best Writing for a Comedy award for Quinta Brunson.

Succession was voted Best Drama and cast member Matthew Macfadyen earning the honor for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama. Zendaya was voted Best Actress in a Drama for Euphoria and Julia Garner won the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama statuette for Ozark, while Lee Jung-jae won the Emmy for Best Actor in a drama series for “Squid Game.”

Amanda Seyfried won the Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie for The Dropout, while Michael Keaton won for Best Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie for Dopesick. Murray Bartlett and Jennifer Coolidge were named Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie for White Lotus, which also won the Emmy for Best Limited or Anthology Series.

Saturday Night Live was named Best Variety Sketch Series and the trophy for Best Variety Talk Series went to Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, while Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls won the Emmy for Best Competition Program.

Actress Geena Davis was honored with the Governors Award for career achievement.

Actor/rapper Vince Staples to star in self-titled comedy series for Netflix

Vince Staples will star in a self-titled comedy series at Netflix loosely based on his life. Titled The Vince Staples Show, the series is a semi-biographical scripted comedy starring the actor and rapper, set in Staples’ hometown of Long Beach, Calif.  Staples will serve as an executive producer in addition to starring, and Kenya Barris — the creator of the hit ABC sitcom Black-ish – is also set to executive produce. No additional cast members have been announced.

Staples said in a statement: “I am excited to partner with Netflix and Kenya Barris on ‘The Vince Staples Show.’ This has been something I have been developing for some time and I am happy it’s coming to fruition.” Staples has previously worked in scripted series in both film and television.  Netflix’s head of comedy, Tracy Pakosta, added: “It’s our mission to work with the best artists in the world. Vince has already established himself as one of the most talented young musicians today and we’re really excited about how his sensibility — and sense of humor — will translate into a unique comedy series.”

Staples began his career collaborating with artists like Earl Sweatshirt and Mac Miller, and released his debut studio album, Summertime ’06, in 2015. He has since released four additional LPs.

Nickelback share the single “San Quentin” from newly-announced album Get Rollin’

Nickelback have released the new single, “San Quentin,” from their recently -announced album, Get Rollin’, which is set to drop on November 18.  Get Rollin’ will be Nickelback’s 10th to date and the band’s first in five years.

Get Rollin,’ and Get Rollin’ (Deluxe) will be available via digital platforms and physical CD purchase. The deluxe edition will include four bonus tracks, like acoustic versions of “High Time,” “Just One More,” “Does Heaven Even Know You’re Missing?” and “Horizon.” Standard and exclusive versions of the album will also be released on vinyl in 2023.

The band said that “San Quentin was inspired after frontman Chad Kroeger met a real-life warden from the notoriously high-security California prison. The song follows as he plots his clever escape.”  Nickelback said in a statement: “We’ve spent the last few years making a record at a pace that gave us the freedom to create and we can’t wait for everyone to hear the new music. We’ve missed the fans and look forward to bringing the new songs to life on stage, so let’s Get Rollin’!”

Ozzy Osbourne shares the video for his collaboration with Eric Clapton ‘One Of Those Days’

Ozzy Osbourne has released the video for “One Of Those Days” featuring Eric Clapton, the latest single from his new album, “Patient Number 9.”  Clapton is just one of Ozzy’s famous friends that appear on Patient Number 9; the new album also features Jeff Beck, Tony Iommi, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction.

Patient Number 9, Ozzy’s thirteenth studio record, was produced by guitarist Andrew Watt and features veteran Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde, Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. The album is the follow-up to Osbourne’s 2020 album, “Ordinary Man.”

Peacock has released the official trailer for the upcoming romantic-comedy “Meet Cute” starring Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson.

“Meet Cute” follows the story of Sheila (Cuoco) and Gary (Davidson), who seemingly fall in love at first sight. In reality, Sheila has a time machine that she uses to make the pair fall for each other over and over again. When she isn’t satisfied with their “perfect night,” Sheila travels to Gary’s past to transform him into her ideal man.

Netflix shares the trailer for the film ‘Luckiest Girl Alive’ starring Mila Kunis

Netflix shared a trailer for the film Luckiest Girl Alive featuring Mila Kunis.

Luckiest Girl Alive, based on the Jessica Knoll novel of the same name, is written by Knoll and directed by Mike Barker, and also stars Finn Wittrock, Connie Britton, Justine Lupe, Jennifer Beals and Scoot McNairy.

The thriller follows Ani FaNelli (Kunis), described as ‘a sharp-tongued New Yorker who appears to have it all: a sought-after position at a glossy magazine, a killer wardrobe and a dream Nantucket wedding on the horizon.’ An official description reads: “When the director of a crime documentary invites her to tell her side of the shocking incident that took place when she was a teenager at the prestigious Brentley School, Ani is forced to confront a dark truth that threatens to unravel her meticulously crafted life.”

Jack White announces two special acoustic shows

Jack White will perform two intimate acoustic performances in Chattanooga, TN on September 17th, and Santa Fe, NM on September 29th as part of his ongoing Supply Chain Issues Tour. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.

The Supply Chain Issues Tour will resume later this month with White returning home for the second leg of North American headline shows. In addition, White will perform at a number of upcoming festivals, including Louisville, KY’s Bourbon & Beyond on September 15th and Dana Point, CA’s Ohana Festival on October 1st.
