Lea Michele Apologizes For Being Difficult On Set Of “Glee” After Accusations Against Her Were Made

Former “Glee” star Lea Michele has apologized for being “unnecessarily difficult” on the set of her show, after a co-star accused Michele of making her time there “a living hell.”  Michele issued a statement saying that while she didn’t recall any incident or judged anyone by their background, she was sorry and blamed her privilege and “immaturity.”

Michele said: “I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people. Whether it was my privileged position and perspective that caused me to be perceived as insensitive or inappropriate at times or whether it was just my immaturity and me just being unnecessarily difficult, I apologize for my behavior and for any pain which I have caused.”

The apology came two days after former co-star Samantha Marie Ware accused Michele of “traumatic microaggressions that made me question a career in Hollywood.” Michele is white and Ware is black. After Ware’s allegation, the meal kit company HelloFresh announced that it would sever its partnership with Michele, saying “We are disheartened and disappointed to learn of the recent claims concerning Lea Michele.”

Hollywood Studios And Entertainment Leaders Release Guidelines For Resuming Production Amid Covid-19 Shutdown

Hollywood is making moves towards getting back to work, with the entertainment industry’s guilds and unions signing off on a 22-page guideline document designed to establish safety protocols for producing movies and TV.

The agreement (which can be viewed here) comes after negotiations among actors, directors and crews, and will include extensive testing, temperature checks, cleaning measures and physical distancing when possible. The parties also acknowledge that revisions might be necessary going forward. Actors and other performers, the report notes, are “most vulnerable because they cannot wear PPE [personal protective equipment] when cameras are rolling, and frequently will not be able to engage in physical distancing.” That will require greater testing frequency for them and those with whom they are in close contact.

Certain activities, such as writing and casting, are still encouraged to be conducted virtually whenever possible.  Other parts of production, such as live studio audiences, are also being discouraged.

The plan was produced by the Industry-Wide Labor Management Safety Committee Task Force, which was formed specifically for that purpose, with input from epidemiologists and sanitation experts. The guidelines have been submitted to public-health officials in New York and California.

Carole Baskin Wins Control Of ‘Tiger King’ Star Joe Exotic’s Former Zoo

There has been a major update in the real-life drama related to the hit Netflix documentary Tiger King —Carole Baskin has won control of Joe Exotic’s former zoo.

A federal judge ruled that Baskin’s Big Cat Rescue Corp will take over the 16,439-acre Oklahoma property that was heavily featured in the Netflix series. The current owners have 120 days to vacate Greater Wynnewood Development Group, a.k.a. Tiger King Park. They also have to remove all zoo animals from the land, but ownership of several trucks based on the property will now go to Big Cat Rescue as part of the deal.

The court ruled that the property’s owner, Exotic’s mother Shirley M. Schreibvogel, fraudulently transferred the park in an attempt to shield it from a $1 million settlement owed to Big Cat Rescue Corp. In January, Exotic was sentenced to 22 years in prison for a murder-for-hire plot to kill Baskin, as detailed in the Netflix series which became a national sensation in March.

Ryan Reynolds And Blake Lively Donate $200,000 To The NAACP

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram to share that they have donated $200,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. In a post they shared to both of their social media accounts, the couple wrote:

“We’ve never had to worry about preparing our kids for different rules of law or what might happen if we’re pulled over in the car. We don’t know what it’s like to experience that life day in and day out. We can’t imagine feeling that kind of fear and anger. We’re ashamed that in the past we’ve allowed ourselves to be uninformed about how deeply rooted systemic racism is.”

Lively added that the two “want to educate ourselves about other people’s experiences and talk to our kids about everything, all of it, especially our own complicity. She wrote that the couple’s donation, which comes during days of protests across America after the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, is “just a start” and that they “want to use our privilege and platform to be an ally. And play a part in easing pain for so many who feel as though this grand experiment is failing them.”

Chrissy Teigen Donating $200,000 To Help Bail Out Protestors After George Floyd’s Death

As protests continue against police brutality throughout the United States surrounding the police killing of George Floyd, Chrissy Teigen is using her platform to help those protestors who have been arrested. Teigen shared on Twitter that she would first donate $100,000 to help pay for protestors’ bailouts, but later increased the amount to $200,000.

“I am committed to donating $100,000 to the bail outs of protestors across the country,” Teigen tweeted before increasing the amount to another $100,000 after someone replied in a now deleted tweet that the protestors were “rioters and criminals.”

George Floyd, a black man, died after a white police officer, Derek Chauvin, kneeled in his neck for more than seven minutes after arresting him for suspicion of forgery.  Derek Chauvin was fired from the Minnesota Police Department and then four days later was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter. He is currently being held on $500,000 bail.

‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’ Renewed For Season 15 At FX

FX has renewed the popular adult comedy show It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia for an record-breaking 15th season. With its 14 seasons to date, It’s Always Sunny had tied ABC’s The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet as the longest-running live-action comedy series. However, with an upcoming 15th season in the works, the show will become the longest-running live-action comedy series ever.

It’s Always Sunny is written and executive produced by Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day, who also star in the series. The comedy, which now airs on FXX, follows the misadventures of “The Gang,” a group of five misfit friends: twins Dennis (Glenn Howerton) and Deandra “(Sweet) Dee” Reynolds (Kaitlin Olson), along with their friends Charlie Kelly (Charlie Day) and Ronald “Mac” McDonald (Rob McElhenney), and Frank Reynolds (Danny DeVito), Dennis’ and Dee’s legal father. The Gang runs the fictional Paddy’s Pub, which is an unsuccessful Irish bar in South Philadelphia.

FX chairman John Landgraf described the series as “the first successful deconstruction and reconstruction of a sitcom.” Creator/writer Rob McElhenney stated that ““we’re going to keep doing it forever if people keep watching.”
