Rage Against The Machine Sees Increase In Streaming Amid Protests

Rage Against the Machine’s music has returned to the charts, with their 1992 self-titled debut re-appearing on the Billboard 200, and their two other original LPs cracking the top 30 on Apple Music. Billboard reports that this surge on the charts has continued over the last seven days.

Rage Against Machine’s music was streamed over 11 million times in the last week, a 62% increase. The band’s 1992 single “Killing in the Name” accounts for 2.4 million of those streams alone, which places the song at No. 3 on Hard Rock Digital Songs Chart and No. 21 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs Chart. “Bulls on Parade”, meanwhile, has been streamed 1.4 million times in the last week.

Rage Against the Machine was supposed to be hitting the road this summer for a reunion tour, however the band has rescheduled those dates, which feature Run the Jewels in a supporting role, for 2021. You can get tickets at the link: here.

Kristen Stewart To Play Princess Diana In New Film Titled ‘Spencer’

Kristen Stewart has been cast as Princess Diana in an upcoming film titled Spencer.

According to Deadline, the film “covers a critical weekend in the early ‘90s, when Diana decided her marriage to Prince Charles wasn’t working, and that she needed to veer from a path that put her in line to one day be queen.” The couple separated in 1992, before getting divorced in 1996. Diana died one year later in a car crash in Paris.

Director Pablo Larraín says Steward has the qualities necessary to play Diana, adding, “to do this well, you need something very important in film, which is mystery. Kristen can be many things, and she can be very mysterious and very fragile and ultimately very strong as well, which is what we need. The combination of those elements made me think of her. The way she responded to the script and how she is approaching the character, it’s very beautiful to see. I think she’s going to do something stunning and intriguing at the same time. She is this force of nature.”
