Sharon Osbourne Reveals She Was Briefly Hospitalized After Testing Positive for COVID-19

Sharon Osbourne has revealed she tested positive for COVID-19 and was briefly hospitalized with the virus.

In a tweet, the co-host of The Talk said, “I wanted to share I’ve tested positive for Covid 19. After a brief hospitalization, I’m now recuperating at a location away from Ozzy (who has tested negative) while The Talk is on scheduled hiatus. Everyone please stay safe and healthy.”

Osbourne’s diagnosis comes days after Carrie Ann Inaba, her ‘The Talk’ co-host, also announced she had tested positive. Back in September, Osbourne revealed on an episode of The Talk that her granddaughter Minnie, Jack Osbourne’s 3-year-old daughter, had tested positive for the virus.

Bipartisan Lawmakers Introduce $908B Stimulus Relief Package

On Monday, a bipartisan group of lawmakers introduced a two-part COVID-19 stimulus bill totaling $908 billion, seeking to end months of deadlock in Congress over the package. The group of about 12 senators from both parties introduced the measure including a $748 billion package focused on funding for education, vaccines and transportation, alongside a $160 billion add-on including the most contentious provisions such as state and local funding and a short-term liability shield for employers.

The lawmakers said it would be up to Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to determine what portions of the bill can successfully pass through both chambers of Congress. Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer backed the bipartisan plan earlier this month, but McConnell had called for Congress to ditch both provisions in favor of passing a bill quickly before lawmakers wrap up their legislative session Friday.

Michael Jackson Estate Wins Appeal in HBO ‘Leaving Neverland’ Lawsuit

On Monday, an appeals court handed a victory to the estate of Michael Jackson in its battle over the 2019 HBO documentary “Leaving Neverland,” which accused the late singer of sexually abusing two young boys.

The Jackson estate sued HBO for $100 million, arguing that the documentary violated a 27-year-old non-disparagement clause from a 1992 concert film from the “Dangerous” tour. HBO has argued that the clause is irrelevant to the present dispute and accuses the Jackson estate of seeking to silence victims of sexual abuse. Last year, a lower court granted the estate’s motion to take the dispute to arbitration. However a thee-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal upheld the lower court ruling. The judges conceded that the suit may be “frivolous,” as HBO has claimed, but said it will be up to an arbitrator to make that call.

Jackson’s attorneys, Howard Weitzman and Jonathan Steinsapir, issued a statement praising the ruling.

‘Elf” Stars Will Ferrell, Zooey Deschanel and More Reunite for Charity

The cast of the beloved holiday comedy Elf reunited for virtual table read.  Will Ferrell – Buddy the Elf himself – was joined by his Elf co-stars Zooey Deschanel, Bob Newhart, Ed Asner, Andy Richer, Amy Sedaris, Mary Steenburgen, Matt Walsh and Kyle Glass for the fundraiser event, which benefitted the Democratic Party of Georgia.

Some of the biggest highlights of the night came from recreating the film’s multiple musical moments. Deschanel, who reprised her role as Jovie, recreated her duet with Ferrell of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” The table read also featured some famous faces sitting in to read for actors who were unable to participate. John Lithgow played Walter, Buddy’s father, a role originally played by James Caan. Meanwhile, the podcaster Jon Favreau filled in to play the role of the doctor — which was originally played by the director of Elf, who is also named Jon Favreau. Other celebs who turned out to participate included Ken Jeong, Danny Woodburn, Jenna Ushkowitz, Busy Philipps, Ed Helms, Bradley Whitford, Wanda Sykes and Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo, among others.

The event was held to raise money for Democrats’ efforts in the upcoming Georgia Senate run-off elections. The goal was to raise $400,000 for the cause, and donations reached almost $403,000 by the end of the table read.

Chris Evans to voice Buzz Lightyear in Disney/Pixar Origin Story ‘Lightyea’r

Disney announced that Chris Evans will voice the iconic role of Buzz Lightyear in an upcoming Pixar movie called Lightyear. The film will take a look at the beloved Space Ranger’s origin story and is slated to hit theaters on June 17, 2022.

Evans, who has played Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, took to Twitter to celebrate the news.  Evans wrote: “I don’t even have the words,” retweeting Pixar’s teaser footage that appears to show a brief intergalactic voyage before featuring the film’s title. There’s no hint yet about whether Woody or any of Buzz’s other friends will appear in Lightyear.

Evans also shared a post to Instagram, writing that he was initially skeptical about taking on the role that was originated by Tim Allen, as “no one could ever touch his performance,” but that Evans learned he would be voicing a “different” character.

Evans also posted a follow-up tweet to clarify that he isn’t actually replacing Allen, but is voicing the inspiration for the toy that Allen portrayed in the Toy Story films: “And just to be clear, this isn’t Buzz Lightyear the toy. This is the origin story of the human Buzz Lightyear that the toy is based on.”
