Demi Lovato comes out as non-binary, announces pronoun change to they/them

28-year-old Demi Lovato has come out as non-binary and is changing their pronouns to they/them. Lovato wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday that they identify as non-binary, or a person whose gender identity does not fit into the binary of male or female. Wrote Lovato: “I am proud to let you know that I identify as non-binary and will officially be changing my pronouns to they/them moving forward. This has come after a lot of healing and self-reflective work. I’m still learning and coming into myself, and I don’t claim to be an expert or a spokesperson. Sharing this with you now opens another level of vulnerability for me. I’m doing this for those out there that haven’t been able to share who they truly are with their loved ones.” Lovato also posted a video, saying in part: “I feel this best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression and allows me to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am and am still discovering.”

Lovato’s coming out as non-binary follows their discussion about “fluidity” with attraction on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast back in March, where Lovato confirmed at the time they identify as pansexual, or someone who is attracted to all genders. Lovato previously said on Radio Andy that they were still figuring out their sexuality but had told their parents in 2017 that they saw themselves “ending up possibly with a woman.”

Lovato released their seventh studio album, Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over, in April.

Netflix drops first trailer for upcoming DC Comic series “Sweet Tooth”

Netflix has dropped the first trailer for Sweet Tooth, its upcoming drama series adaptation based on characters created for DC Vertigo by Jeff Lemire.  The series comes from Robert Downey Jr. and wife Susan Downey’s Team Downey and stars Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar and Will Forte, with James Brolin as the voice of the narrator.

Sweet Tooth follows the adventures of Gus (Convery) — part deer, part boy — who leaves his home in the forest to find the outside world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. He joins a ragtag family of humans and animal-children hybrids like himself in search of answers about this new world and the mystery behind his hybrid origins. Brolin says as the trailer begins: “No one knew which came first, the hybrids or the virus. But that question would become the biggest mystery of our lifetime.”  Gus is then seen on the run from hunters determined to stamp out hybrids, and is told: “Some bad people are still out there. They don’t like you because you’re different.”

Sweet Tooth is set to premiere June 4.  Check out the trailer – here.

The tour is set to kick off on September 17th in Atlantic City, NJ at the Ovation Hall at Oceans Resort and will conclude on October 23rd in Atlanta, GA at Shaky Knees Festival. Cooper had this to say about Ace: “We’ve always had fun touring together and it should be a heavy rock show with Ace and a great way to get everyone back to live concerts again. It should be a great night of virtuoso guitars!”

Said Ace: “I’ve known Alice for over 30 years. We’re good friends, and we’ve toured together numerous times and always had a blast. Our musical roots are very similar, and the combination of our two bands make for a great event that nobody is gonna want to miss. 2021 Lollapalooza to return at full capacity this July

Festival producers announced Tuesday, May 18 on Twitter that Chicago’s Lollapalooza is returning at full capacity this July 29-Aug. 1 at Grant Park. Lollapalooza’s late July return will mark one of the first major North American festivals to occur since the coronavirus pandemic shut down concerts and festivals beginning in early 2020.

In order to attend, fans will have to produce full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results. For patrons who are not fully vaccinated, a negative COVID-19 test result must be obtained within 24 hours of attending Lollapalooza each day.  Details on the festival entry process will be available in early July.

Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot said in a press release: “Here in Chicago, the word ‘Lollapalooza’ has always been synonymous with summer, great music and four days of unforgettable fun — which made last year’s decision to postpone it all the more difficult. Now, less than a year later and armed with a vaccine that is safe, effective and widely available, we are able to bring back one of our city’s most iconic summer music festivals. I want to thank the Lollapalooza team for working closely with the City to create a reopening strategy that prioritizes safety and can’t wait to see festivalgoers return to Grant Park this summer.”

Lollapalooza will announce its lineup Wednesday at at 10 a.m. CT., and tickets will go on sale two hours after the announcement.   For more info, visit the official Lollapalooza website.
