Mike Patton cancels Faith No More and Mr. Bungle tour dates due to mental health issues

Mike Patton has canceled his upcoming tour dates with both Faith No More and Mr. Bungle, citing mental health reasons.

Patton said in a statement: “I have issues that were exacerbated by the pandemic that are challenging me right now. I don’t feel I can give what I should at this point and I am not going to give anything less than 100 percent. I am sorry to our fans and hope to make it up to you soon.”  Patton noted that both Faith No More and Mr. Bungle “support me in this decision and we look forward to working through this in a healthy way.”

Members of Faith No More have issued their own statement expressing support of the band’s frontman. “We believe that forging ahead with these dates would have had a profoundly destructive effect on Mike, whose value to us as a brother means more to us than his job as singer. He can count on our 100% support to do what he needs to do to get things right. Just as we also ask for your support right now.”

The concert dates affected include Faith No More’s upcoming US tour, which includes appearances with System of a Down, and festival appearances at Chicago’s Riot Fest, Slipknot’s Knotfest in Iowa, and Aftershock in California. Mr. Bungle’s appearance at Riot Fest and a warm-up gig in Chicago have also been called off.

Saturday Night Live’s Norm Macdonald dies at age 61 following private cancer battle

Comedian Norm Macdonald has died at 61 after a private nine-year battle with cancer. Macdonald’s longtime friend Lori Jo Hoekstra told Deadline that the former Saturday Night Live cast member died Tuesday morning, adding that the comedian was determined to keep his cancer battle private from family, friends and fans. Hoekstra told the outlet: “He was most proud of his comedy. He never wanted the diagnosis to affect the way the audience or any of his loved ones saw him. Norm was a pure comic. He once wrote that ‘a joke should catch someone by surprise, it should never pander.’ He certainly never pandered. Norm will be missed terribly.” Norm is survived by his son, Dylan.

The Canadian-born comedian began his career as a writer on The Dennis Miller Show and Roseanne in the early 1990s, where he was noticed by SNL producer Lorne Michaels. Macdonald was a cast member on the sketch comedy show for five years, from 1993 through 1998, three of which he spent anchoring the ‘Weekend Update’ segment. He also hosted “The Norm Show” from 1999 to 2001, and had roles in “Billy Madison”, “Dirty Work”, “Man on the Moon”, “Skylanders Academy” and “The Orville”.

Ozzy Osbourne has shared a new version of ‘Hellraiser’ featuring a duet with late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. The track is featured on the expanded 30th anniversary reissue of Osbourne’s ‘No More Tears’ album, due out this Friday, September 17th. In addition to the original ‘No More Tears’ album, hits such as ‘I Don’t Want To Change The World’, ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’, ‘Road To Nowhere’, and the title track will all appear on the expanded edition as live recordings from Osbourne’s ‘No More Tours’ tour in 1992.
