Foo Fighters release thrash song ‘March of the Insane’ from their upcoming film “Studio 666”

Foo Fighters have released a new thrash song titled “March of the Insane,” released under the moniker ‘Dream Widow’ as part of their upcoming horror-comedy film Studio 666.  You can watch the lyric video for “March of the Insane” – here.

“March of the Insane” appears in Studio 666, which follows Foo Fighters as they move into a haunted mansion in Encino, Calif., to record their 10th album.  Grohl said that “March of the Insane” belongs to ‘Dream Widow,’ the ill-fated band that died at the hands of its possessed singer.  And we come in 25 years later to record, having no idea what happened 25 years ago, and I start becoming possessed by the spirit of the guy from 25 years ago and the spirit of the house. But this song, ‘March of the Insane,’ this is their lost record. This is the record they were making before their singer murdered [them].”

Studio 666 premieres in theaters on Feb. 25.

Wolfgang Van Halen premieres Mammoth WVH’s video for ‘Epiphany’

Mammoth WVH (the project of Wolfgang Van Halen) has released a video for ”Epiphany,” the third single from the project’s debut album.  The video shows a series of live performances including footage from two headline shows last October, and one show of the band opening for Guns N’ Roses last September. The live band featured in the video includes Van Halen on vocals, keyboards, and guitars, Frank Sidoris and Jon Jourdan on guitars, Ronnie Ficarro on bass, and Garrett Whitlock on drums.

Said Van Halen in a statement: “’Epiphany’ is the song that I always say best represents the core sound of Mammoth WVH. The song was easily the biggest unreleased track and has resonated most with the fans since the album was released last June. That was why it made sense to be a single now. It is also one of the most fun to play live and I can’t wait to get back out on the road and play it on the Young Guns tour.”

Mammoth WVH will be touring across North America in support of their self-titled debut album with co-headliners Dirty Honey of the “Young Guns” tour. The tour will begin on February 20th in Denver and includes 33 dates. Tickets for the tour are available for purchase here.

Whoopi Goldberg returns to “The View” after 2-week suspension for controversial comments

Whoopi Goldberg returned to her co-hosting spot on ‘The View’ after a two-week suspension following controversial remarks about the Holocaust. The 66-year-old Goldberg returned to the show on Monday, February 14.  Goldberg’s two-week suspension was announced on February 1, after she had said the Holocaust “isn’t about race” during a discussion about a school board banning Art Spiegelman’s graphic novel ‘Maus.’

Upon her return, she mentioned how diving deep into sensitive topics was par for the course on the show. “I missed you all too. There’s something kind of marvelous about being on a show like this, because we are The View, and this is what we do, and sometimes we don’t do this [as] elegantly as we could. It’s five minutes to get in important information about topics, and that’s what we try to do everyday.”  Goldberg continued:  “I want to thank everybody who reached out while I was away. I listened to everything everybody had to say, and I was very grateful. I hope it keeps the important conversations happening, because we’re going to keep having tough conversations. In part, because this is what we’ve been hired to do, and it’s not always pretty, as I said, and it’s not always as other people would like to hear.”

Following the backlash against Whoopi, the comedian apologized and discussed her comments on-air with Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt.  She said at the time: “It is indeed about race, because Hitler and the Nazis considered Jews to be an inferior race. Now, words matter, and mine are no exception. I regret my comments, as I said, and I stand corrected. I also stand with the Jewish people, as they know.”  Despite her apology, ABC News President Kim Godwin suspended Goldberg on February 1, saying: “While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments.”
