Jon Bernthal to return as The Punisher in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

Jon Bernthal will repair the role of Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, in Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again for Disney+. Bernthal posted a photo of him as The Punisher on Instagram, but did not offer details about his future with the franchise.  Bernthal joins Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in the series, which begins shooting in New York. Written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the show will debut in Spring 2024.

Bernthal first played The Punisher on Netflix’s version of Daredevil, debuting during 2016’s second season. He went on to headline his own series for Netflix, playing the titular character for two seasons of The Punisher from 2017-19.

Bernthal and his co-stars appeared to be done with Marvel, but Cox was revealed to have a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and went on to appear in She-Hulk.  Meanwhile, Daredevil co-star D’Onofrio appeared in Hawkeye, and both Cox and D’Onofrio are key figures in the upcoming Echo, which sets the stage for Born Again.

Prime Video has shared the official trailer for the new spy thriller ‘Citadel’, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden, and executive produced by the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Endgame) and showrunner David Weil.

Citadel is described as a ‘global adventure where spies from several countries came together for the ultimate mission.’   An official synopsis reads: “Eight years ago, Citadel fell. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. Until one night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love.”
