Take a look at Mark Wahlberg in the trailer for ‘The Family Plan’

Apple TV+ has shared a trailer for the new action comedy The Family Plan, starring Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan. Saïd Taghmaoui, Zoe Colletti, Maggie Q and Ciarán Hinds also star.

The Family Plan featuresWahlberg plays Dan Morgan, a former elite government assassin who lives a quiet suburban life as a devoted husband, father of three and successful car salesman. An official film synopsis reads: “When enemies from his past track him down, Dan packs his unsuspecting wife (Monaghan), angsty teen daughter, pro-gamer teen son and adorable 10-month-old baby into their minivan and takes off on an impromptu cross-country road trip to Las Vegas. Determined to protect his family — while treating them to the vacation of a lifetime — Dan must put his long-dormant skills into action, without revealing his true identity.”

In addition to starring, Wahlberg serves as producer along with Stephen Levinson, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger.

When We Were Young announces 2024 lineup with My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy

The lineup for the 2024 edition of When We Were Young was announced, taking place on the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on Oct. 19. The third iteration of the music fest will feature over 50 full-album live performances, featuring headliners Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance, who will perform “The Black Parade” in its entirety.

The festival posted on its socials: “WHEN WE WERE YOUNG FEST 2024 🖤🥀 PERFORMING THE ALBUMS & MORE 💿 Sign up for Presale that starts Friday, November 17th at 10 AM PT. All tickets start at $19.99 down.”

Also performing full album sets are A Day to Remember, Jimmy Eat World, Pierce the Veil, the Used, Simple Plan, Dashboard Confessiona, Coheed and Cambria, and Nada Surf. Cobra Starship and Chiodos will also reunite to perform “¡Viva La Cobra!” and “All’s Well That Ends Well,” respectively.

Hozier extends ‘Unreal Unearth Tour’ with North American dates

Hozier will extend his “Unreal Unearth Tour” by adding 37 dates in the spring and summer of 2024. The tour takes its name from his third studio album, ‘Unreal Unearth’, which came out this summer.

The 2024 run begins April 20 at Coastal Credit Union Music Park in Raleigh, North Carolina, with stops mainly at amphitheaters, arenas, and small stadium dates: two at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium and one at Madison, Wisconsin’s Breese Stevens Field. Allison Russell will support on select dates.

Anthony Anderson and mom to host Fox game show ‘We Are Family’

Anthony Anderson will host the Fox game show We Are Family along with his mother, Doris Bowman, premiering on Jan. 3. The network announced the show in May, which was developed by Jamie Foxx and daughter Corinne. Anderson and Bowman replace Foxx and his daughter, who had previously been announced as hosts for “We Are Family.”.

Anderson said in a statement: “I jumped at the opportunity to host We Are Family and can’t wait for you to see all the celebrities, their relatives and the many surprises we have in store this season. And with my mama by my side, you never know what’s going to happen!” Anderson and Bowman — also known as “Mama Doris” — have worked together on several projects, including “To Tell the Truth,” as well as “Trippin’ with Anthony Anderson and Mama Doris.” According to Fox, the new show “will showcase non-famous relatives of celebrities performing amazing solo performances and duets with their hidden famous family member.”

The musical game show will feature duets between contestants and their famous family members. While the celebrity will be hidden, it’s up to the audience of 100 contestants to guess the celebrity, who are competing for up to $150,000 by guessing which celebrity the performer is related to.

See Reneé Rapp in ‘Mean Girls’ musical film trailer

Paramount has released the first trailer for “Mean Girls,” adapted from the 2018 Tony-nominated musical based on the 2004 comedy of the same name. Reneé Rapp stars as the infamous Regina George, reprising her role on Broadway. Also joining the cast are Auli’i Cravalho, Angourie Rice, Christopher Briney, and Jaquel Spivey. Tina Fey, who wrote both the 2004 movie and the stage musical, returns as screenwriter and producer for this rendition.

Rice portrays Cady Heron, the new girl at school who is taken in by Janis and Damian (Cravalho and Spivey, respectively).  After Janis and Damian instruct Cady to infiltrate the school’s queen bees, known as the Plastics, Cady starts to fall for Regina’s boyfriend Aaron Samuels (played by Briney).

Iron Maiden to release ‘Piece of Mind’ 40th anniversary graphic novel

Iron Maiden have just announced a graphic novel in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their seminal fourth album, Piece of Mind, set for a Nov. 21 release. A social media post reads: “IRON MAIDEN: PIECE OF MIND 🧠 The Official 40th Anniversary Art Book by @z2comics. Collecting new illustrations, stories, celebrity tributes & more. Get it now at z2comics.com/ironmaiden”

Piece of Mind features classics including “The Trooper,” “Flight of Icarus” and “Revelations” coming to life in individual chapters dedicated to each of the nine songs on the album. Frontman Bruce Dickinson contributed to the “Revelations” chapter, which was his first official songwriting credit with Iron Maiden. Said Dickinson: “When the idea of a Piece of Mind 40th Anniversary graphic novel first came up, I felt it was the perfect medium to expand outside the confines of the songs and to create new storylines and new dimensions through short form narrative and imagery. With ‘Revelations,’ it allowed me to add more layers and dimensions to the lyrics and add a new twist.”

The graphic novel also features contributions from Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, AEW star and Fozzy singer Chris Jericho, comedian and metalhead Brian Posehn, The Cure bassist Simon Gallup, MMA superstar Josh Barnett, Public Enemy’s Chuck D and award-winning director Jonas Akerlund.

KISS to stream final concert on Pay-Per-View

KISS have announced that they will be streaming their final show ever on December 2nd at Madison Square Garden via Pay-Per-View.

KISS are currently in the midst of the last leg of their “End of the Road” farewell tour, continuing into December and culminating with a two-night stand at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Dec. 1st and 2nd.  The latter MSG show will be available to stream via PPV.com as well as pay-per-view via cable and satellite operators (in the US and Canada) beginning at 8 p.m. ET that night.

The stream will cost US and Canadian audiences $39.99, and the aforementioned cable providers will include Xfinity, Spectrum, Contour, Optimum, Fios, DirecTV, DISH, Rogers, and Telus, among others.

Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony to air Dec. 15 on CBS

The Daytime Emmys have set a new airdate, after being postponed by the Hollywood writers’ strike. CBS posted on X: “And the #Emmy goes to…The 50th Annual @DaytimeEmmys Awards returns LIVE Friday, December 15 at 9/8c on CBS.”  The Daytime Emmys honor excellence in soap operas, talk, game, legal and culinary shows, and children’s programming that air before the evening primetime hours.

The Daytime Emmys were originally set for June 16; they were postponed in May because of the strike by the Writers Guild of America (which ended Sept. 26). The actors union also went on strike on July 14  before finally ending their labor dispute last week.

The 50th annual ceremony, hosted by Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner of “Entertainment Tonight,” will air live on Dec. 15 from the Westin Bonaventure Los Angeles, on CBS as well as livestreamed on Paramount +.  It will be the first major awards show since the writers and actors went on strike.

Adam Sharp, president and CEO of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, said in a statement: “We know the loyal fans of daytime television have waited patiently to properly honor and recognize all of the deserving nominees and we look forward to the celebration we have all been waiting for.”

Daytime dramas General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless lead the field with 19, 14 and 11 Emmy nods apiece going into the competition. ‘All My Children’ soap legend Susan Lucci will be presented with the event’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Kevin Hart stars in the first trailer for Netflix‘s upcoming comedy-thriller Lift.

Lift centers on Cyrus Whitaker (Hart), the leader of an international heist team who gets enlisted to steal $500 million in gold from a mid-air passenger plane before the fortune ends up in the wrong hands. The film co-stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D’Onofrio, Úrsula Corberó, Billy Magnussen, Jacob Batalon, Jean Reno and Sam Worthington.

Queensrÿche announces 2024 Origins Tour

Queensrÿche will launch a Spring 2024 North American tour, featuring support from Armored Saint.  The band announced on social media: “Announcing ‘The Origins Tour’ [playing the EP & The Warning] and featuring our good friends and special guests Armored Saint!! Tickets on sale THIS Friday!!

Queensrÿche singer Todd La Torre said in a press release: “We are thrilled to bring to you ‘The Origins Tour!’ This will be the first time in Queensrÿche’s history that the EP and The Warning will be performed live in their entirety. And to make this an even more stellar tour, we are so excited that our great friends and legendary metallers Armored Saint will be joining us as direct support. We are all proud to bring you this touring package and we can’t wait to see you on the road.”

“The Origins Tour” will see Queensrÿche revisit their early years, performing their 1983 self-titled EP and their 1984 debut full-length album The Warning in their entirety. The trek kicks off March 22nd in Houston at the Hell’s Heroes Festival and runs through May 12th in Fort Meyers, Florida.
