Jennifer Lopez files for divorce from Ben Affleck after two years of marriage

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are divorcing after two years of marriage. The news comes after rumors circulated over the summer concerning their potential split, with Lopez and Affleck spending much of the summer on opposite coasts. Multiple sources told PEOPLE in May that Affleck and Lopez were not living together in their Los Angeles home. In June, Affleck and Lopez put the mansion they shared together in Beverly Hills since June 2023 on the market, and Affleck later purchased a new $20 million home in Los Angeles in July.

According to court documents, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Aug. 20 in Los Angeles Superior Court. News outlets reveal that Lopez listed the date of separation as April 26 and the couple does not have a prenup, with sources confirming that Lopez filed without an attorney. TMZ was the first to reported the news of the Lopez’s divorce filing.

Lopez and Affleck’s marriage came several decades after they originally dated in the early 2000s. The couple was engaged to be married in 2003, but postponed their nuptials and ultimately went their separate ways.

Following Lopez’s breakup with her ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez in 2021, Lopez and Affleck rekindled their relationship, with the couple marrying in July 2022 in Las Vegas. Lopez announced their marriage on her website at the time: “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.” The next month, the couple celebrated their marriage during a lavish, second wedding ceremony in Georgia.

Affleck was previously married to actor Jennifer Garner, whom he divorced in 2018. The exes share three children: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. Lopez was also previously married to actor Ojani Noa and dancer Cris Judd. She married her third husband, singer Marc Anthony, in 2004 before splitting in 2011 after seven years of marriage. The former couple shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme.

NBC officially orders ‘Suits’ spin-off with Stephen Amell

NBC has officially ordered a ‘Suits’ spin-off series, set in Los Angeles and starring Stephen Amell. Amell captioned a photo of him on the new show’s set: “Meet Ted Black. Suits LA. Coming soon”

Suits: LA will serve as a spinoff / companion show to the original series, once again coming from creator Aaron Korsh. When Suits became a massive streaming hit last year, Korsh  began developing a second show set in the same world. NBC ordered a pilot for the show in February, and it filmed in the spring.

The cast also includes Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis and Bryan Greenberg and Troy Winbush. Suits creator Aaron Korsh wrote the pilot for Suits: LA, and serves as executive producer alongside David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein and Victoria Mahoney.

David Gilmour shares video for ‘Dark and Velvet Nights’

David Gilmour has released his new song and video for “Dark and Velvet Nights,” the third single from his upcoming album, Luck and Strange. The album is Gilmour’s fifth solo LP, and his first in nine years (since the release of Rattle That Lock in 2015).

‘Dark and Velvet Nights’ follows the songs “The Piper’s Call” and “Between Two Points,” which features vocals by Gilmour’s daughter Romany. Gilmour said of the song in a press release: “The music sprang out one day. It was so exciting to have come across this groove. Polly [Samson, Giomour’s wife] had given me a beautiful poem for our wedding anniversary, which was sitting on the desk right next to me, so I picked it up and sang it on the track, to hear what it would sound like with words. I played it to Polly, and she said, ‘Lovely, great, I’ll need fiddle with it a bit. So she added a couple of verses,’ and there it was – very serendipitous.”

Gilmour will also play his first U.S. shows in eight years, taking place in Los Angeles and New York – at the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 29 and 30 and Madison Square Garden on Nov. 4 and 5. Gilmour also announced shows in Rome on Sept. 27, 28 and 29, and Oct. 1, 2 and 3, and at London’s Royal Albert Hall for Oct. 9, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 15.

Gilmour’s upcoming concerts features bassist and backing singer Guy Pratt, keyboardists Greg Phillinganes and Rob Gentry, drummer Adam Betts, guitarist Ben Worsley and backing vocalists Louise Marshall, Hattie Webb and Charlie Webb.
