See Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively in teaser for sequel film ‘Another Simple Favor’

Prime Video is previewing Another Simple Favor starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, which sees the women reprising their roles as Stephanie (Kendrick) and Emily (Lively) for director Paul Feig‘s sequel to his 2018 film A Simple Favor (which earned $53 million at the domestic box office and collected $97 million globally).

Another Simple Favor, set to begin streaming May 1 on Prime Video, also stars Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Michele Morrone, Elizabeth Perkins and Allison Janney.  Director Feig helmed the movie from a script by Jessica Sharzer and Laeta Kalogridis; Sharzer wrote the screenplay for the original film, which was based on the 2017 novel of the same name by author Darcey Bell.

The trailer for the upcoming film shows Stephanie giving a reading from a book she’s apparently written about the traumatic experience, called The Faceless Blonde’ and later shows Stephanie and Emily taking off for Italy, as Emily prepares to get married.  An official synopsis reads: “along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square.”

Another Simple Favor premiered at the SXSW Film & TV Festival on March 7, and will land on Prime Video beginning May 1. See the teaser trailer – HERE.

Keith Urban to headline CBS music competition series ‘The Road’

Country music star Keith Urban will serve as the headliner for the new CBS music competition series ‘The Road’, in which up-and-coming acts serve as his opening-act on several of his tour dates. The Road is slated to air on CBS in the fall.

An official synopsis for The Road reads: “At each location, emerging musicians will take the stage as Urban’s opening acts before he performs. The audience will have the opportunity to influence which musicians will continue on the tour and move to the next city.”

The Road –– executive produced by Blake Shelton, Taylor Sheridan, David Glasser and Lee Metzger — follows Urban as he performs across Texas, Oklahoma and culminating in a show at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Tickets to those performances are free, with the audiences at those shows helping to determine who stays on tour, and who goes home.

Urban said in a statement: “I spent a lot of my underage life playing in some seedy pubs, sometimes just for the bartender. So I love the idea of throwing artists into a real-world environment to find out if they are artists. Paying your dues sucks, but there are things in this business that can’t be taught, like how to put together a set list, whether to extend or cut a song during your performance or how to work the crowd. For me, touring has always been my first love. It’s where the rubber meets the road. But it’s the only road to take if you want to be a performer.”

Urban’s High and Alive World Tour kicks off in May, after his The Road performances conclude April 2.

Guns N’ Roses announce new drummer Isaac Carpenter

Guns N’ Roses have named Isaac Carpenter as their new drummer, just a day after the band announced they had amicably parted ways with Frank Ferrer, who had been with the group since 2006 (making him their longest-tenured drummer).

Carpenter has been a member of the group Awolnation for the past decade, appearing on their last five albums. He also played with bassist Duff McKagan’s band Loaded between 2009-2011, appearing on their 2011 album The Taking. Carpenter takes over for Ferrer, who played his last show on Nov. 5, 2023. Earlier this week, Guns N’ Roses said of his departure: “The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the past 19 years. They wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”

Guns N’ Roses will launch their Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things world tour on May 1 in Incheon, Korea, and Carpenter will be on the road with GN’R throughout their 2025 European, Asian and Middle East Tour, headlining stadiums and festivals throughout the summer with dates sets through July 31 in Wacken, Germany.  For more information, head to Guns N’ Roses website.
