Jessica Chastain and Adam Driver to star in new series ‘The Dealer’ at Apple TV+

Jessica Chastain and Adam Driver will star in Apple TV+‘s latest series The Dealer, which will explore the world of high-end art. The two actors will also serve as executive producers. The Dealer hails from The Morning Show and Pachinko producer Media Res and will be executive produced by Tony Award-nominated playwright Lucas Hnath, Sam Gold and Sarah Lunnie.

The Dealer, written by Hnath and to be directed by Gold, is described as “a biting exploration of power, class, seduction and culture set inside the glittering world of the high-end art market, told through the eyes of an aspiring super gallerist (Chastain) and the tangled relationship with her most gifted and unnerving artist (Driver)” (per Deadline).

The series will be the second at Apple TV+ for Chastain, who also stars in/executive produced the upcoming thriller The Savant. The Dealer marks Driver’s his first ongoing series role since Girls ended on HBO in 2017.

ZZ Top to launch 2025 North American ‘Elevation Tour’

ZZ Top is hitting the road again in 2025 with their 51-date Elevation Tour, kicking off June 1 in Victoria, British Columbia, and wrapping up October 10 in Terre Haute, Indiana. The band just wrapped a three-week, 12-date tour of Australia and New Zealand.

Longtime drummer Frank Beard announced in March he would temporarily step back from touring due to undisclosed health issues, with John Douglas — a veteran member of the band’s crew — set to serve as his replacement on tour. Douglas joins guitarist Billy Gibbons and bassist Elwood Francis, who has been with the band since the passing of Dusty Hill in 2021.

Joe Perry Project to be joined on tour by Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson, members of Stone Temple Pilots

Joe Perry has announced a series of August tour date with his band, The Joe Perry Project, featuring special guests including his Aerosmith band mates guitarist Brad Whitford and touring keyboardist Buck Johnson, as well as Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson and Stone Temple Pilots members Robert DeLeo (bass) and Eric Kretz (drums).

The eight-stop tour begins on Aug. 13 in Tampa, Florida, and concludes on Aug. 23 in Port Chester, New York. The band will make additional stops in Florida, Ontario, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut along the way.

Perry shared: “Well … it’s time to let the music do the talkin again. I’m really excited about the JPP line up this year!!!! Most of these guys played with me at The Roxy in L.A. at the debut event for my latest solo album [Sweetzerland Manifesto] in January 2018. They’re all busy as hell but thankfully they’re able to carve out some time for this run … I’m not only lucky enough to have Brad Whitford onstage with me but Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes! [who sang ‘Fortunate One’ on Sweetzerland Manifesto MKII], Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz from STP!!! and Buck Johnson who plays keys and sings with Aerosmith, the Hollywood Vampires, and is also a solo artist in his own right. The set list is gonna include my fav JPP cuts, STP, Black Crowes, and with Brad we’ll be hitting the Aero hits and some deep cuts and then ya never know!!!! Gonna be a BLAST, and if you’ve ever been to one of my shows you know the words GARAGE BAND on STEROIDS come to mind! See you there!!!!”

The Joe Perry Project has toured and released music with various lineups since 1979. Under that band name, Perry issued three albums in the early ’80s, but he has also released five additional albums as a solo artist.

American Music Awards 2025: See the full list of winners

The American Music Awards returned on Monday, May 26, held at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas and hosted by Jennifer Lopez.

The show kicked off with Lopez offering an energetic dance number set to a medley of 23 of the year’s biggest tracks, featuring music by Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, Shaboozey, Beyoncé, and others.

Billie Eilish, who entered the night with seven nominations, walked away with the coveted Artist of the Year award. She was also nominated in several other categories, including Album of the Year and Favorite Pop Album for Hit Me Hard and Soft, as well as Song of the Year and Favorite Pop Song for Birds of a Feather. SZA won for Favorite R&B Song for “Saturn” and Favorite Female R&B Artist.

Gracie Abrams took home the award for New Artist of the Year. Meanwhile, Eminem was awarded Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist, adding another accolade to his long list of achievements. Eilish, Abrams, and Eminem were not present to accept their awards in person.

Janet Jackson made a highly anticipated return to the stage, performing for the first time on television in seven years in honor of her Icon Award. In addition, Rod Stewart received the Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating a career that has spanned over 60 years.

Billy Joel cancels all upcoming concerts after revealing brain disorder diagnosis

Billy Joel has revealed that he is canceling all upcoming concerts after being diagnosed with the brain disorder Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH).  The condition has reportedly worsened due to the strain of recent performances, causing difficulties with Joel’s balance, hearing, and vision.

Following medical advice, Joel, 76, will undergo a course of specialized physical therapy and has been told to pause all live performances while he recovers. He shared his gratitude and understanding from his fans, saying he’s eager for the day he can return to the stage. A statement posted to Joel’s Instagram read: “This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance. Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period .. Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health. He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage.” The statement also confirmed that all ticketholders would receive an automatic refund.

In the official statement, Joel himself added: “I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding.”

Canceled dates include solo shows, which including a trio of stadium shows in the New York City area, as well as co-headlining performances with Sting, Rod Stewart, and Stevie Nicks through July 2026. In March, Joel postponed eight stadium concerts he was scheduled to do through July, citing an undisclosed “medical condition”

Lamb of God announce additional 2025 headlining dates

Lamb of God has added several headlining dates to their 2025 itinerary, including a special performance in their hometown of Richmond, as well as stops in Springfield, Massachusetts; Monterrey, Mexico; and more. Special guests include Gwar, Hatebreed, Body Count, Power Trip, Cavalera, Shadows Fall, Frozen Soul, and Harms Way on select dates.

The band will also join Black Sabbath for their historic Back to the Beginning final show on July 5th in Birmingham, UK, and will headline several festivals including Inkcarceration, Unhinged, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock.

In addition, the band returns to the high seas this fall with the return of their Headbangers Boat cruise from October 31st through November 4th, departing from Miami with a stop in Cozumel, Mexico. The cruise features performances from Clutch, Kublai Khan TX, Power Trip, Obituary, Devil Driver, Fear Factory, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Exploited, Crowbar, Nekrogoblikon, Eighteen Visions, Gideon, Walls of Jericho, Category 7, Brat, comics Josh Potter and Saul Trujillo, with appearances from Jose Mangin and Riki Rachtman.

See Benicio del Toro in trailer for Wes Anderson’s ‘The Phoenician Scheme’

Focus Features released a trailer for Wes Anderson’s upcoming film The Phoenician Scheme, starring Benicio del Toro, Mia Threapleton and Michael Cera.  The film marks Anderson’s first feature film since Asteroid City, released in 2023.

The Phoenician Scheme stars del Toro as Zsa-zsa Korda, one of the richest men in Europe, who survives his sixth recorded airplane crash. The trailer shows Korda, a father of 10, decide to make his daughter, Liesl (Threapleton), a nun, the sole heir to his estate. Cera also stars as a tutor named Bjorn, with the cast also including Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Mathieu Amalric, Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Friend and Hope Davis.

The Phoenician Scheme debuts in limited release May 30, and will expand wider June 6; see the trailer – HERE.

‘Waiting for Godot’ with Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter opening on Broadway in September

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will take to the Broadway stage in a new production of Waiting for Godot, opening on Sept. 28.

Waiting for Godot debuted on stage in 1953, centering on the characters Estragon (Reeves) and Vladimir (Alex Winter) as they talk while waiting for the arrival of the mysterious Godot.

The Broadway production of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot starring Reeves and Winter will begin previews on Saturday, September 13 ahead of the September 28 opening night. The strictly limited engagement will play through Sunday, January 4, 2026, with Jamie Lloyd serving as producer and director.

Reeves will be making his Broadway debut, while Winter made his Broadway debut as a child actor in The King & I with Yul Brynner and Peter Pan with Sandy Duncan. He also appeared in the American premiere of Simon Gray’s Close of Play at Manhattan Theatre Club.

Reeves and Winter previously starred together in the 1989 movie Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Reeves, who plays the title character in the John Wick film series, will reprise the role in the upcoming spinoff Ballerina, which opens June 6.

Linkin Park to headline UEFA Champions League final kick off show

Pepsi® and UC3 have announced that Linkin Park will headline the UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show. The band will take to the stage at Munich Football Arena on May 31, 2025.

Linkin Park said of the news: “With our new album and ongoing tour, we’ve been overwhelmed by the fans’ energy and excitement. We can’t wait to share that same energy and excitement at the UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show presented by Pepsi.
