Dropkick Murphys share “Who’ll Stand with Us?” from new album ‘For The People’

Dropkick Murphys have announced a new album, For the People, will arrive on July 4th on digital platforms, followed by a physical release on Oct. 10 featuring five bonus tracks. For The People also includes a collaboration with folk legend Billy Bragg, in a tribute to late Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan, and The Mary Wallopers.

The video for the politically charged lead single “Who’ll Stand with Us?” can be found HERE. As stated in a press release, “Who’ll Stand With Us?,’ the album’s first single, is a call for unity, a return to sanity, and a look at what – and who – is really dividing us. It gets straight to the point: When the billionaires and broligarchs get done neutering society, what’s left for the rest of us? The song aims to frame class warfare for what it is. And, like all Dropkick Murphys songs, it empowers listeners to take action.”

Frontman Ken Casey shares: “We’ve always had the same message and haven’t been afraid to speak out about what’s important to us. But for me now, I think about my kids’ future, and the next generation. That could be anything from speaking out against injustices, or just simply making sure you take the time to tell the people close to you how important they are to you.”

Later in the summer, Dropkick Murphys and Bad Religion will hit the road for their co-headlining U.S. Summer Of Discontent Tour from July 22nd through August 17th.

Will Sharpe, Ayo Edebiri to star in Apple TV+ rom-com ‘Prodigies’

The new Apple TV+ romantic comedy series Prodigies will star Will Sharpe and Ayo Edebiri.

Described in the synopsis as an “unusual take” on a classic romantic comedy, the series “is set to explore the universal complexities of long-term relationships through the lens of a very unique couple. The story follows Didi (Edebiri) and Ren (Sharpe), two ex-child prodigies who have been together since they were children and, now in their early 30s, are starting to question whether their very ordinary existence is living up to the extraordinary promise of their childhood. As the description goes, they, inevitably, find themselves asking the same questions of their relationship … As they reflect on their individual aspirations and evolving desires, their relationship is inevitably called into question. The series explores the myth at the heart of many romantic stories — that everything is resolved once the couple ends up together.”

Sharpe not only stars in the series, but also serves as creator, writer and director. He and Edebiri serve as executive producers alongside Jane Featherstone, Naomi De Pear, and Katie Carpenter. A release date has yet to be announced.
