Charli xcx joined by John Cale in the video for ‘House’ for Wuthering Heights soundtrack

Charli XCX is joined by Former Velvet Underground musician John Cale on the song ‘House,’ that will be included on the soundtrack for Emerald Fennell’s upcoming film Wuthering Heights.

Charli posted on Instagram: “new original songs by me for Emerald Fennell’s “Wuthering Heights” starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi. in theatres february 14th. happy early valentines <3”

Charli XCX is creating new original songs for the feature film, Fennell’s adaptation of the famed 1847 Emily Brontë novel starring Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff.  The film also stars Hong Chou, Shazad Latif and Alison Oliver, which is scored by Anthony Willis (who also scored Fennell’s first two features – 2020’s Promising Young Woman and 2023’s Saltburn.) Wuthering Heights premieres in theaters on February 14, 2026.

Charli XCX wrote in a note posted to X: “A few years ago I watched Todd Haynes’ documentary about The Velvet Underground. As many of you know I’m a huge fan of the band and was really taken by the documentary. One thing that stuck with me was how John Cale described a key sonic requirement of The Velvet Underground. That any song had to be both ‘elegant and brutal.’  When the summer ended I was still ruminating on John’s words. So I decided to reach out to him to get his opinion on the songs that his phrase had so deeply inspired, but also to see whether he might want to collaborate on any…I sent him some songs and we started talking specifically about ‘House.’ We spoke about the idea of a poem. He recorded something and sent it to me. Something that only John could do. And it was… well, it made me cry.”

The accompanying video for ‘House’ was directed by Mitch Ryan (who also helmed Charli XCX’s “Party 4 U” clip earlier this year) and stars both Charli and Cale as dark, shadowy figures.

See Timothée Chalamet in the new trailer for “Marty Supreme”

A24 released the new official trailer for their upcoming drama “Marty Supreme” starring Timothée Chalamet as the titular Marty Supreme.

Director Josh Safide co-wrote the film with Ronald Bronstein, which also stars Gwyneth Paltrow as Kay Stone, Odessa A’zion as Rachel, Kevin O’Leary as Milton Rockwell, Tyler Okonma aka Tyler the Creator as Wally, Abel Ferrara as Ezra, and Fran Drescher as Mrs. Mauser.

The video introduces Chalamet as Marty Mauser, a table tennis player who’s very determined to fulfill his dreams of making it big in the world of sports. Marty (Chalamet) is described as a hustler and table tennis star who “goes to hell and back in his pursuit of greatness.” That pursuit involves making enough money to care for his mother, wooing a couple of women and getting on the cover of a Wheaties box for his ping-pong skills.

“Marty Supreme” premiered at the New York Film Festival to critical acclaim, and is set for theatrical release on Dec. 25; see the trailer: HERE.

Megadeth shares tracklist to final self-titled album, including ‘Ride The Lightning’

Megadeth have revealed the full tracklisting for their self-titled final album, due out January 23, 2026.

The album includes “Tipping Point,” the previously released first single, and a reimagined version of “Ride The Lightning,” which frontman Dave Mustaine co-wrote with Metallica’s James Hetfield, Cliff Burton, and Lars Ulrich (and was the title track from the group’s 1984 album). Mustaine shares “As I come full circle on the career of a lifetime, the decision to include ‘Ride The Lightning,’ a song I co-wrote with James, Lars, and Cliff, was to pay my respects to where my career first started.”

Megadeth announced in August the band would be saying farewell after 16 albums. Mustaine confirmed their next project would be the group’s last, sharing a video to the band’s YouTube and social media pages that included Mustaine’s alter ego, Vic Rattlehead, delivering the news. After teasing fans with a 30-second clip of the song “Tipping Point,” Megadeth – Mustaine, Teemu Mäntysaari (Lead, Rhythm, and Acoustic Guitars), James LoMenzo (Bass Guitar) and Dirk Verbeuren (Drums) – released the album’s first single and video for the track.  Check out the video for ‘Tipping Point’ – HERE.

Megadeth also recently shared the video for their latest track “I Don’t Care,” teaming with director Keith J Leman for the visual. Mustaine says about the song: “How many times have you wanted to say this to someone? I know you want to! Deep down inside, if we had the balls, we would tell more people, ‘I don’t care’ more often … Part of the main riff in this track had been floating around in my head since we did TSTD&TD, so I was pumped to start recording ‘I Don’t Care’ for this LP. I really love the guitar nuances in the track. There is the main rhythm riff, next, a very deliberate down-picking part, next, the octave chords with jump picking on octave notes (while still down-picking!). And the soloing and back and forth between me and Teemu [Mäntysaari] is magnificent!!” See the video for ‘I Don’t Care’ – HERE.

The metal legends’ 17th (and final) LP will officially arrive on January 23rd, and is available for pre-order in various formats.  Megadeth also announced plans for a 2026 farewell tour and the release of Dave Mustaine’s new memoir sometime next year.

ABC’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ extended for one-year in deal with Disney through May 2027

Late night host Jimmy Kimmel has signed a one-year extension with The Walt Disney Company to continue hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! through May 2027 on ABC.

The contract extension, first reported by Bloomberg, comes after a year what saw Kimmel suspended by Disney/ABC over comments he made surrounding the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk; as well as the loss of Kimmel’s close friend and bandleader Cleto Escobedo III last month.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! began airing in 2003 and is currently in its 24th season; per Deadline, the 58-year-old announced the news to his staff on Monday. Just last month, Kimmel told Bloomberg he was undecided as to whether he would stay on.  When asked about his future, he replied: “I often answer that question, and then I do the opposite of what I said. I previously said, ‘This is going to be like my last one,’ the last three contracts. So I’ve learned not to say anything anymore, because it upsets my staff. It’s best that when I make a decision, I will make that decision.”

In addition to hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the comedian is a four-time Oscar host, and is also the host of the rebooted game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.”

Sheinelle Jones to join Jenna Bush Hager as permanent co-host on ‘Today’ 4th hour

NBC announced Tuesday that Today show host Sheinelle Jones will be permanently be joining Jenna Bush Hager in the fourth hour of the ‘Today” show’s morning programming at 10:00 am.  Jones, a longtime co-host of 3rd Hour of Today with Dylan Dreyer, Al Roker, and Craig Melvin, has been a member of the Today franchise since 2014. Sheinelle will be stepping away from the 3rd Hour of Today, while Melvin, Roker, and Dreyer remain co-hosts of the 9 a.m. show.

Jones will be officially replacing Hoda Kotb, who departed the fourth-hour show ‘Today with Hoda & Jenna’ back in January. Since Kotb’s departure, Hager has had a rotating cast of over 60 celebrities and TV personalities joining her to co-host on the show, which was rebranded as ‘Jenna & Friends.’  With the addition of Jones, the network revealed that the show will now be called ‘Today with Jenna & Sheinelle,’ launching on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Hager shared on Tuesday’s episode: “Today I’m so thrilled to announce that I’ve found my forever friend and we’re gonna start a brand new journey in January. I couldn’t be more excited to share this person with you all. You all know her, she’s an extraordinary broadcaster. But more importantly, she exemplifies exactly what this show is all about.”

Jones had taken a leave of absence in January from the “Today’ show due to her husband Uche Ojeh’s illness and death from brain cancer in May; she just recently returned to the network in September.  She said to Bush Hager: “To have a show like this is beyond my wildest dreams. This is the real deal, and I get to do it with Jenna.”  She added that she told her three kids, Kayin, 16, and twins Clara and Uche Jr., both 13, and shared: “So Kay was in the school library and I went and got wine and I gave [the twins] water and I said, ‘Guys, we have to take a selfie.’ And they were so happy for me. There was so much joy in our house and we needed that joy.”

Today Executive Vice President Libby Leist and executive producer Talia Parkinson-Jones called the news “an exciting new chapter for the fourth hour. Jenna and Sheinelle are two extraordinary talents who have grown within the ranks of ‘Today.’  They are beloved for their authenticity, warmth and genuine connection with our Today audience. Sheinelle has been a cherished member of NBC News for more than 11 years. From standout interviews with newsmakers and celebrities to her iconic Halloween performances as Beyoncé and Tina Turner, she has captivated audiences time and again.”
