‘One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5’ to debut Jan. 12 on Netflix

Netflix has announced the premiere date for a documentary chronicling the making of the fifth – and final – season of ‘Stranger Things.’

Directed by Martina Radwan, ‘One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5‘ will debut on the streamer Monday, Jan. 12. Per Netflix, the documentary shares “an inside look at the years of effort and craft that went into the final installment of the Duffer Brothers’ generation-defining series.”

‘Stranger Things’ creators Matt and Ross Duffer said in a statement: “Growing up in Durham, North Carolina, we dreamed of becoming filmmakers — but Hollywood felt impossibly far away. Everything changed when we watched the behind-the-scenes documentaries for The Lord of the Rings — on-the-ground films that showed the real nuts and bolts of how a massive production actually gets made. We saw how stressed Peter Jackson was and thought: Yep, that’s the dream. With the decline of physical media, that kind of behind-the-scenes storytelling has largely disappeared. We wanted to bring it back. One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things Season 5 — beautifully captured and directed by Martina Radwan — is our attempt to do just that. If you love Stranger Things, or if you’re simply curious how a major Hollywood production comes to life, this one’s for you.”

Radwan said in a statement: “I’m endlessly grateful to the Duffer Brothers for trusting me with a front-row seat to this incredible journey. Spending a full year on set with them was a true privilege — and an absolute thrill. Being able to get close and watching them bring this beloved show to life in real time, was pure joy. I only wish I could travel back in time and document seasons one through four. From the cast to their longtime collaborators, everyone welcomed me with remarkable generosity, openly sharing their personal and collective experiences from a decade of creative filmmaking. The Duffers always push boundaries and inspire everyone to be better, including myself. Their process and the show represents everything I love about filmmaking.”

‘Lioness’ renewed by Paramount+ for Season 3

Paramount+ has given the green light for Season 3 of Taylor Sheridan’s espionage thriller Lioness, starring and executive produced by Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman.  The formal renewal comes 10 months after Season 2 of the drama series ended its run on the streaming service.

As Deadline had previously-reported, the delay to renew the series for Season 3 stemmed in part from the fact that, while Saldaña already had an acting deal in place spanning three seasons, Kidman had to make a new one for Season 3 and was not announced as producers had to work around its two stars’ busy film schedules.

Season 2 of Lioness also starred Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hebert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill and Hannah Love Lanier.

See Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in the trailer for Netflix’s ‘The Rip’

Netflix has released the trailer for “The Rip,” a new crime thriller starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Damon and Affleck grapple with what to do after discovering a stash of $20 million in cash while working as police officers in Miami in the teaser for the film; with the trailer showing their characters discovering the windfall. Damon’s character implies it would be “so much easier” if they stole the money, and he and Affleck must then work together to protect the money from others.

The film’s official logline reads, “Upon discovering millions in cash in a derelict stash house, trust among a team of Miami cops begins to fray. As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything is called into question — including who they can rely on.”

In an interview with Tudum, writer/director Joe Carnahan said of the project: “‘The Rip’ came out of a deeply personal experience that my friend went through, both as a father and as head of tactical narcotics for the Miami-Dade police department. It’s inspired in part by his life and then, by my enduring love for those classic ’70’s cop thrillers that really valued the character and interpersonal relationships and became touchstones of that era films like Serpico and Prince of The City and more recently, Michael Mann’s Heat.”

Carnahan adds: “Working with Matt and Ben and having two, distinctly talented filmmakers, as both creative allies and the studio heads, wound up being the best of both worlds. I’ve never had as easy an experience on a movie as I had on The Rip. They took exceptionally good care of me and backed my decisions every step of the way.”

Alongside Damon and Affleck, “The Rip” stars Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Sasha Calle, Néstor Carbonell, Lina Esco, Scott Adkins and Kyle Chandler.

“The Rip” arrives on Netflix on January 16, 2026. Watch the trailer – HERE.
