Aerosmith marks over 50+ years of debut LP with expansive ‘Legendary Edition’ reissue

Aerosmith is revisiting its breakthrough beginnings with a newly expanded ‘Legendary Edition’ of its 1973 self-titled debut, arriving March 20 in a wide range of formats. Originally peaking at No. 21 in 1973 and later earning double-platinum status, the album launched a career that would define hard rock for decades.

The reissue centers on freshly completed 2024 updates of the original album, including a remaster and a brand-new remix overseen by band co-founders Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. Working alongside producer and mixer Zakk Cervini, the pair aimed to present what’s described as their “unfiltered vision” of the record. Available configurations include a 3-CD set, single CD, digital edition, 1-LP black vinyl, 1-LP color vinyl, a 4-LP slipcase, and a deluxe 5-LP box set. The three-disc version pairs the remaster and remix with a full disc of rare material, while vinyl collectors get an even deeper dive.

A major highlight is a vintage concert recording from March 20, 1972, captured at Paul’s Mall in Boston. The 11-song performance features early live renditions of “Make It” and “Mama Kin,” along with covers that became staples of the band’s shows, including “Mother Popcorn” and “Train Kept A Rollin’.” (notably absent from the set is “Dream On,” the group’s debut single). Rounding out the bonus material are six tracks drawn from late-1972 studio sessions that shaped the original album. These include alternate and rehearsal takes of “Make It” and “Write Me a Letter,” plus two in-studio jams: “Harmonica Bass Jam Jelly (Session Take)” and “Joined at the Hip (Aerojam),” the latter incorporating a snippet of “Sweet Emotion.”

The 5-LP box set adds an exclusive clear UV cloud-effect 12-inch featuring both 2024 versions of “Dream On.” It also includes a 3D pop-up diorama, a hardcover book filled with rare photos, new liner notes by Rick Florino, interviews with the original five members, and tributes from artists such as Dolly Parton, Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains, Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, Slash of Guns N’ Roses, and Sully Erna of Godsmack. A fold-out poster and sticker sheet complete the package.

Nick Reiner enters not guilty plea in fatal stabbings of parents Rob and Michele Reiner

Nick Reiner has entered a not guilty plea in the fatal stabbings of his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Singer Reiner, during a brief arraignment in Los Angeles on Monday, Feb. 23.

The 32-year-old appeared in Los Angeles County Superior Court wearing a brown jail-issued jumpsuit, his head closely shaved. Aside from confirming his pleas and waiving his right to a speedy trial, he did not address the court. Judge Theresa McGonigle scheduled a preliminary hearing for April 29, when a judge will determine whether prosecutors have sufficient evidence to move the case to trial. Reiner remains jailed without bail.

Prosecutors have charged him with two counts of first-degree murder, including special circumstances alleging multiple murders and personal use of a knife. If convicted, he could face life in prison without parole or the death penalty. District Attorney Nathan Hochman said his office is weighing whether to pursue capital punishment and has invited the defense to present arguments for consideration.

Authorities allege the couple was attacked inside their Brentwood home in the early morning hours of Dec. 14, 2025. Paramedics were dispatched to the residence around 3:30 p.m., but both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be multiple sharp force injuries and ruled the case a homicide. Death records state the injuries were inflicted with a knife and that the couple died within minutes.

Their Reiners’ daughter, Romy Reiner, discovered her father’s body that afternoon and later learned her mother had also been killed. Reiner was arrested that evening in the Exposition Park neighborhood, roughly 15 miles from the family home, and has remained in custody since. He was formally charged on Dec. 16.

The arraignment followed earlier delays, including the withdrawal of Reiner’s original defense attorney Alan Jackson in January, citing circumstances that made it impossible to continue. Although he declined to elaborate, Jackson said his team believed “pursuant to the law in California, Nick Reiner is not guilty of murder.” Public defender Kimberly Greene later assumed the case.

A possible motive has not been disclosed. In the days after the killings, reports surfaced describing an intense argument between Reiner and his father at a holiday gathering hosted by Conan O’Brien the night before the deaths, with guests reportedly finding his behavior ‘unsettling.’  Reiner had previously been diagnosed with schizophrenia and had undergone changes to his prescribed medication before the incident. Court records also show he was placed under a mental health conservatorship from 2020-2021.

Rob and Michele Reiner, married since 1989, were also parents to son Jake. Rob was previously married to Penny Marshall and adopted her daughter, Tracy, during that marriage.

Paramount+ sets fifth and final season of Jeremy Renner’s “Mayor of Kingstown”

Paramount+ has confirmed that Mayor of Kingstown will return for a fifth season, which will also serve as the series’ conclusion. The final chapter of the Jeremy Renner–led drama will consist of eight episodes, a shorter run compared to the 10-episode seasons that came before.

Created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, the series debuted in 2022 and centers on Mike McLusky, played by Renner, a key power broker navigating the volatile balance between law enforcement, criminals, and inmates in the fictional town of Kingstown, Michigan. Season 4, which wrapped on Dec. 28, ended with a violent climax following escalating gang warfare and shifting alliances.

That season also introduced Edie Falco as Nina Hobbs, the newly appointed warden of Anchor Bay prison, whose arrival disrupted Mike’s grip on the city. Falco is set to return for the final season, which will explore the fallout from the bloodshed and the altered power structure left behind.

The ensemble cast includes Lennie James, Laura Benanti, Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Nishi Munshi. While Dillon previously suggested the creators once envisioned a longer run, the series will now conclude with Season 5, closing out one of Sheridan’s darker entries in his growing Paramount+ television universe.

Mayor of Kingstown is executive produced by Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, and a large producing team, and is produced by Paramount Television Studios alongside 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions.

‘Gremlins 3’ sets November 2027 release date, Steven Spielberg to exec produce

‘Gremlins 3′, the third live-action film in the “Gremlins’ franchise, is set for theatrical release November 2027. The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline were first to report the news.

Steven Spielberg is on board to executive produce the film for Warner Bros., while Chris Columbus will also return to produce and direct. All other details, including a plot description and casting news, have not been disclosed.

Columbus penned the original 1984 film, which famously led to the creation of the PG-13 rating. Directed by Joe Dante, ‘Gremlins’ follows a boy named Billy who receives a cute, furry creature called a Mogwai as a pet but is warned to never expose the animal to bright light, water or to feed him after midnight. Once those rules are broken, the gremlin spawns more of its kind and end up wreaking havoc on Billy’s hometown during Christmas. “Gremlins” was a box office hit with $212 million dollars worldwide, with the sequel, 1990’s “Gremlins 2: The New Batch,” earning $41 million. Two seasons of an animated prequel series also aired from 2023- 2025.

Warner Bros. Pictures’ president of development and production Jesse Ehrman said in a statement: “Few titles are as beloved and iconic as ‘Gremlins,’ and we’re beyond excited to bring it back for both lifelong fans and a whole new generation. It’s a privilege to be working alongside Steven [Spielberg], Chris [Columbus], and the entire creative team, and we look forward to audiences experiencing the next installment of the magic, mayhem, and heart of Gremlins on the big screen in 2027.”

The 1975 to release 10th anniversary vinyl reissue of sophomore album

The 1975 are celebrating 10 years of their second studio album, ‘I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It,’ with a newly announced anniversary edition arriving February 27th.

The commemorative release will be pressed on limited-edition pink vinyl and packaged in an elaborate six-panel triple gatefold sleeve featuring refreshed cover artwork. Fans will also receive 17 oversized 12” x 12” art cards, each dedicated to a track from the record, with song lyrics printed on the reverse.  Preorder: HERE.

Originally recorded in Los Angeles and produced by frontman Matty Healy and George Daniel alongside longtime collaborator Mike Crossey, the album fused glossy ’80s influences with a contemporary edge. The result was a bold contrast to the band’s stark, monochrome debut and helped cement their rising status. Featuring standout tracks such as “Love Me,” “UGH!,” “Somebody Else,” and “The Sound,” the album debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and topped the U.S. Billboard 200, while also reaching the summit in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Formed in Manchester in 2002, The 1975 have grown into one of their generation’s most influential acts, known for their distinct visual style and devoted global following. Their most recent album, Being Funny In A Foreign Language, arrived in 2022, followed by the expansive At Their Very Best and Still… At Their Very Best world tours. In 2024, they headlined the iconic Glastonbury Festival, further underscoring their lasting impact.
