Matt Damon stars in the trailer for Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s ambitious big-screen adaptation of The Odyssey, offering an early look at the epic ahead of its theatrical debut on July 17, 2026.

Matt Damon stars as Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, charting a perilous journey home after the Trojan War. The teaser emphasizes survival at sea, with violent storms, wrecked ships, and looming dangers replacing lengthy monster reveals. At one point, Odysseus reflects on the cost of war, saying, “After years of war, no one could stand between my men and home — not even me.”

The footage briefly introduces Tom Holland as Odysseus’ son, Telemachus, and Anne Hathaway as his wife, Penelope. In a quiet exchange, Penelope pleads, “Promise me you will come back,” to which Odysseus replies, “What if I can’t?”

While mythical threats like Polyphemus the Cyclops, the Sirens, Circe, and Calypso are central to Homer’s original poem, the trailer focuses more on the emotional and physical toll of the voyage. The cast also includes Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, and John Leguizamo, many of whom have yet to appear on screen.

Shot across multiple global locations using newly developed IMAX film technology, the film has already generated massive demand, with reports indicating that tens of millions of IMAX tickets have been snapped up at major theater chains.

Ice Nine Kills shares video for ‘Twisting the Knife’ ft. Mckenna Grace from ‘Scream 7’

Ice Nine Kills have unveiled their latest single, “Twisting The Knife,” a collaboration with Mckenna Grace that appears on the soundtrack for the forthcoming horror film Scream 7 – the song plays a prominent role in the movie, and is featured over its end credits.

The single arrives with a cinematic music video that includes appearances by Roger L. Jackson, known as the voice of Ghostface, and franchise veteran David Arquette. The band first revealed the partnership during a sold-out performance at Wembley Arena. They are set to join Grace and the rest of the cast at the film’s Los Angeles premiere on February 25, ahead of its global theatrical release on February 27 through Paramount Pictures.

INK frontman Spencer Charnas described the track as a heartfelt homage: “‘Twisting the Knife’ is our tribute to Wes Craven and the Scream franchise, which means so much to us. Scream is baked into the DNA of who I am and of Ice Nine Kills—my love of horror, comedy, and the collision between the two. I was already obsessed with Halloween and Friday the 13th, but Scream was the first I saw in theaters.”

Charnas also noted the band’s longstanding ties to the franchise’s legacy cast, including Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, Neve Campbell, Rose McGowan, Jamie Kennedy, and Lee Waddell. After learning that Grace was a fan of the band, inviting her to contribute vocals felt natural. She recorded her part in Charnas’ home studio—where he keeps one of the original rubber knife props used in the first film.

Grace said of the collab: “Making this song was such a special experience for me: I am such a big INK fan and it was such an amazing opportunity to be able to play with a different style of music. I am so inspired by Amy Lee’s vocals and we all wanted to channel Scream and Sydney’s story as best as we could. Spencer and the guys were so much fun to collaborate with and I’m so thankful to Kevin Williamson.”

Scream 7 continues the long-running horror franchise, with Grace starring opposite Campbell, Lillard, and Isabel May. The story follows “Sidney Prescott as a new Ghostface killer threatens the quiet life she has built, placing her daughter in danger and forcing her to confront the trauma of her past once more.”

Scream 7 will hit theaters on February 27; see the video for ‘Twisting the Knife’ – HERE.

Scarlett Johansson’s new ‘Exorcist’ film from director Mike Flanagan set for 2027 release

Mike Flanagan is taking on ‘The Exorcist’ with a bold new vision, headlined by Oscar winner Scarlett Johansson. The horror film, backed by Blumhouse and Universal, is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 12, 2027, with ‘Hamnet’ actor Jacobi Jupe joining Johansson as costar.

The project is being described as neither a sequel nor a remake of the 1973 classic that starred Ellen Burstyn, Max Von Sydow, and Linda Blair. Instead, Universal has labeled it a “radical redo” that exists within the same universe as William Peter Blatty’s original novel adaptation, though specific story details remain tightly under wraps.

Flanagan, who wrote, directed, and is producing the film through his Red Room Pictures banner, confirmed Johansson’s casting last year and praised her involvement, saying, “Scarlett is a brilliant actress whose captivating performances always feel grounded and real, from genre films to summer blockbusters, and I couldn’t be happier to have her join this Exorcist film.” The role marks Johansson’s first time leading a horror feature.

The filmmaker has described the project as a deeply personal one, noting, “The Exorcist is one of the reasons I became a filmmaker, and it is an honor to have the chance to try something fresh, bold and terrifying within its universe.” Morgan Creek chairman David Robinson echoed that enthusiasm, stating, “I think his vision for this franchise is going to stun audiences worldwide.”

While the original film earned 10 Academy Award nominations and spawned multiple follow-ups, this new installment aims to chart unexplored territory. Plot specifics are being kept secret, with Flanagan and the studio opting to reveal little ahead of release.

The Black Crowes share video for “Profane Prophecy” from new album ‘A Pound of Feathers’

The Black Crowes have dropped a striking new music video for their latest single, “Profane Prophecy,” offering a bold preview of their upcoming album A Pound of Feathers, due out March 13.

Inspired by the provocative visual language of filmmaker Russ Meyer, the Los Angeles–shot video leans heavily into surreal imagery, drenched in red tones and symbolism. Chris Robinson described the track’s meaning, saying, “‘Profane Prophecy’ is about the devil you know, the devil you never knew, the devil inside of me and devil inside of you,” adding, “The mischief and madness in the beautiful expression that is rock n roll… and you can dance to it.”

A Pound of Feathers was recorded in Nashville with producer Jay Joyce, who also worked on the band’s Grammy-nominated 2024 release Happiness Bastards. According to Chris, the album came together quickly, capturing momentum and instinct in just over a week. Rich Robinson echoed that sentiment, calling the project transformative and rooted in rediscovering the band’s core creative spark.

In addition to “Profane Prophecy,” the band has also released “Pharmacy Chronicles” ahead of the album’s arrival. Stream those tracks: HERE.  Following the album release, The Black Crowes will head to Australia and Japan for Pacific Rim tour dates in April, play select European festivals in early summer, and later join Guns N’ Roses for four dates on their 2026 world tour.
