Sexual misconduct investigation against Rammstein’s Till Lindemann is dropped

The investigation against Rammstein‘s frontman Till Lindemann following allegations of sexual assault has been dropped by German prosecutors. The Washington Post reported that Berlin’s prosecution office shared a statement which read: “The evaluation of the available evidence — above all the press reports that refer to anonymous whistleblowers, as well as the additional questioning of witnesses — has not produced any indications that the accused has carried out sexual acts on women against their will, administered disabling substances or exploited a power imbalance towards underage sexual partners in order to persuade them to have sex.”

The investigation was launched back in June after several women came forward claiming that the singer drugged and recruited them to engage in sexual activity. Lindenmann had previously denied the allegations with his attorneys adding that the claims were “without exception untrue”. Lindemann’s lawyers said that they would “immediately pursue legal action in response to all such accusations”.

Universal Music halted all marketing and promotion for the band amid the investigation, with the label saying: “The accusations against Till Lindemann have shocked us and we have the greatest respect for the women who have spoken out so courageously in public in this case.”

Adele says sciatica attack caused her to collapse backstage at Las Vegas residency

Adele revealed that she recently collapsed backstage during her Las Vegas residency due to an ongoing health issue that caused a flare-up of her spinal condition. The 35-year-old singer told fans during one of her recent concerts (part of her “Weekends with Adele” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace) that she fell and was unable to move because of a sciatica attack. Sciatia is a condition is caused by pain radiating from the sciatic nerve, causing extreme discomfort and pain in the legs and lower back. Adele told the audience that a member of her production team found her, unable to move: “They picked my whole body up off the floor. I am going to sit down and rest my sciatica.”

Adele first revealed her condition in 2021, saying she’s been dealing with it since the age of 15. “I slipped my first disc when I was 15 from sneezing. I was in bed, and I sneezed, and my fifth one flew out. In January, I slipped my sixth one, my L6. And then where I had a C‑section, my core was useless … I’ve been in pain with my back for like, half of my life, really. It flares up, normally due to stress or from a stupid bit of posture. But where I got my tummy strong, down at the bottom, which I never had before, my back don’t play up as much. It means I can do more. I can run around with my kid a little bit more.”

Adele also shared with fans how the chronic pain she lives with has impacted her ability to move on stage. During a New Year’s Eve 2022 show, Adele had difficulty walking across the stage after throwing shooting merchandise out of a T-shirt cannon into the crowd: “I have to waddle these days as I have really bad sciatica.”

Adele’s Vegas residency was extended this year with additional dates through November 4, 2023, after her initial successful run from November 2022-March 2023.

HBO’s ‘The Idol’ starring The Weeknd, Lily-Rose Depp is canceled after one season

Deadline reports that the controversial HBO drama series ‘The Idol’, starring The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, has been canceled after one season. Season 1 concluded on July 2 after five episodes – one episode less than its originally planned six-episode run.

Created by ‘Euphoria’ showrunner Sam Levinson, The Weeknd and Reza Fahim, the cast of ‘The Idol’ also included Troye Sivan, Jennie, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Dan Levy. Depp starred as Jocelyn, an aspiring pop star who develops a relationship with Tedros (The Weekend), a nightclub owner with a sordid past.

The show was heavily criticized due to its explicit content, and allegations of a toxic work environment behind the scenes plagued the show before it even premiered. Variety shared a statement from HBO, who said: “The Idol was one of HBO’s most provocative original programs, and we’re pleased by the strong audience response. After much thought and consideration, HBO, as well as the creators and producers have decided not move forward with a second season. We’re grateful to the creators, cast, and crew for their incredible works.”

Paramount+ shares trailer for Sean Penn’s Ukraine documentary ‘Superpower’

Paramount+ announced that the documentary Superpower will premiere Sept. 18 on the streaming service. Oscar-winning actor and longtime political activist Sean Penn made seven trips to Ukraine during the past two years for the project, with filming beginning months before the war began in late 2021. Penn, who co-directed the documentary along with Aaron Kaufman, traveled to Ukraine to learn more about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The film includes Penn venturing to the battle’s front lines and captures the moment when the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv was first attacked by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s bombs in February 2022, and the aftermath as Zelensky led Ukraine’s resistance. Penn spent the night of the first attack in Zelensky’s bunker. Penn also interviews veterans of the 2014 invasion and visits the front lines of the current war, and the citizens affected in their homes. He also talks to top Ukrainian, Polish and U.S. government officials.

Said Penn: “We set out to tell a lighthearted tale of this comedic actor who had been elected president of Ukraine and instead became witness to a historic leader and his country’s war for freedom. When you step into a country of such incredible unity, you realize what we (in the United States) have all been missing.”

Superpower was previously previewed as a work in progress at the Berlin International Film Festival; the completed film will premiere on Paramount+ on Monday, Sept. 18. Take a look at the trailer – here.

Hayley Williams says Paramore is ‘back in the studio’ after fighting lung infection

Hayley Williams shared a health update after Paramore were forced to cancel shows due to her lung infection. Said Williams: “I don’t cough all day and night anymore” and “I’m just happy to to be resting more,” but also added that her “stomach is still f***** from 10 kinds of medication.”

Willians also revealed that Paramore have been back in the studio, sharing: “Zac and Taylor and I also just want to get back to making things. We’ve been craving that for a while now. Not only the creative process but the layer(s) of insulation that can come with the creative process. For me, when we get into this mode it always feels nice to disappear in a way.”

Williams also shared she’s been watching lots of TV and has spent a “disgusting” amount of time on social media while recovering:“I watched all of Yellowjackets, 3 or 4 music docs, They Cloned Tyrone, A Good Person (never cried so much or stared blankly across my living room for longer after a movie was over)… but mostly I just scrolled around on my phone… to a degree that has been, to put it nicely, DISGUSTING … After successfully divorcing myself from social media for quite a long time — I have become, once again, chronically online. Anyone else know this pain? For me, it always starts out sweet. I love to see photos or random anecdotes from people who’ve come out to our shows… I love the stupid inside jokes and even the sticky parasocial connection. And when I am not para-lurking, I am watching dog videos or watching people I don’t know organize their s**t. But I also see lots of news, especially from back home. It’s literally always sad or rage-inducing. Never positive. Depressing. Now that the bulk of our touring for the year is over, I’m hoping to dive head first into creating some better routines.”
