Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie confirmed for ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ prequel film

An Ocean’s 11 prequel that is in the works and according to producer Josey McNamara, Barbie co-stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are on board to star in the film.

McNamara said in a recent interview with Games Radar at the BFI London Film Festival: “They’re wonderful together. The more projects even outside of that we can have them do would be amazing.”  McNamara kept the premise of the film mum but teased that it would “do right by the franchise … I can’t really say much, but I think we’re just trying to do right by the franchise. I’m excited for people to experience it when it’s ready.”

The Ocean’s 11 prequel has been in “active development” since last year with Carrie Solomon penning the prequel set in 1960s Europe.  The Ocean’s franchise was launched by Steven Soderbergh back in 2001, based on the 1960 ‘Rat Pack’ film.  George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts starred in the film that ended up grossing over $450M worldwide. The sequel film, Ocean’s Twelve, was released in 2004 followed by Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007.  Ocean’s 8 was also released with a female-centric cast in 2018 that included Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Awkafina, Helena Bonham Carter and Rihanna.

Taylor Swift released two new versions of her hit song “Cruel Summer,” featuring the live version from her ‘Eras Tour,’ and a remix from LP Giobbi.

The 33-year-old shared her feelings on social media after watching videos of audience members enjoying themselves at her concert film ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’:  “What a truly mind blowing thing you’ve turned The Eras Tour Concert Film into. I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for 😇 One of my favorite things you’ve done was when you supported Cruel Summer SO much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it. For old times sake, I’m releasing the live audio from the tour so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars PLUS a brand new remix by @lpgiobbi 😜 Thank you, so much, forever, wow, just thank you!!!”

Listen to the live version of ‘Cruel Summer’ (here); and the LP Giobbi ‘Cruel Summer’ remix (here).

Bush share the video for ‘Nowhere To Go But Everywhere’

Bush have shared a music video for “Nowhere To Go But Everywhere,” featured on their Greatest Hits collection, Loaded: The Greatest Hits 1994-2023, set for release on November 10. Loaded is comprised of 21 tracks spanning nearly 30 years of Bush’s career across nine studio albums.

Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale says of the video: “While anyone can identify with clinging to the past which the song addresses, the extremes we’ve seen some people go to for external youth is unnerving. It is a drag watching your own face age—and yet as, David Bowie said, ‘The thing about aging is you become the person you should have been all along.’ Genius. And feels true.”

Bush will perform at Grammy Museum in Downtown LA on Monday November 6 in celebration of the release of Loaded: The Greatest Hits 1994-2023. The band also announced a new series of North American headline dates.

Oscar-nominated actor Burt Young dies at age 83

Actor Burt Young, best known for playing Paulie Pennino in the ‘Rocky’ films, has died at the age of 83. Young’s cause of death was not immediately known; his daughter Anne Morea Steingieser confirmed the news to The New York Times, sharing that Young passed away on Oct. 8 in Los Angeles. Young’s manager Lynda Bensky said in a statement: “Burt was an actor of tremendous emotional range. He could make you cry and he could scare you to death. But the real pathos that I experienced was the poignancy of his soul. That’s where it came from.”

Young, born Gerald Tommaso DeLouise in Queens, New York, was in the US Marine Corps in the 1950s. He was an avid boxer before trying his hand at acting, studying through Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio and going on to build a career playing tough guys in TV shows and films. Young appeared in the first Rocky film in 1976, receiving an Oscar nomination for best supporting actor in 1977 for his role as the friend and future brother-in-law of boxer Rocky, played by Sylvester Stallone. Young portrayed Paulie in all six original Rocky films.

Young also appeared alongside Jack Nicholson in “Chinatown” and with Rodney Dangerfield in “Back to School.”  Other film credits include Once Upon a Time in America, Last Exit to Brooklyn and Mickey Blue Eyes, and he worked in television, appearing on The Sopranos, Law & Order, The Rockford Files and M*A*S*H. Young made his name for himself outside of acting as a painter, and exhibited his work at galleries around the world.

Stallone paid tribute to Young on Instagram: “To my Dear Friend, BURT YOUNG, you were an incredible man and artist, I and the World will miss you very much…RIP.” Their ‘Rocky’ co-star Carl Weathers posted on X: “RIP, Burt Young! A beautiful and talented soul. He was such an integral part of the Rocky family. ‘You want the bird? Go get the bird.’ Paulie will be with us forever! #BePeace.”
