The two-hour variety special will not only show some furry friends sporting recreations of Parton’s most iconic ensembles from Dolly’s ‘Doggy Parton’ pet line, but will also feature exclusive performances of Parton’s hits including “9 to 5,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Puppy Love” and “Jolene.” Parton will perform alongside artists including Lainey Wilson, Carly Pearce, Chris Janson and KC of ‘KC of the Sunshine Band.’

Says Dolly: “I have hosted or co-hosted many shows throughout my career, but I have never been more excited about co-hosting a show than I am about being part of this pet gala! I love animals. I’ve got all kinds, and of course, I’ve always had little dogs around, and big ones! We’re going to have some of all kinds and colors on the show, and there is nothing more fun to me than when little animals do what they do best, and I’m looking forward to it! There is so much fun stuff, and I know all the animal lovers out there are going to love this show.”

“Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala” is slated to premiere on CBS Network and on Paramount+ on Feb. 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The special will air live and on demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs.

Ben Affleck to direct Matt Damon in ‘Animals’ for Netflix

Netflix announced that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are teaming up for the new crime thriller titled “Animals.” Affleck will direct, with Damon starring, from a script by Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray.

Affleck, 51, and Damon, 53, are producing the project with Dani Bernfeld through their company ‘Artists Equity,’ which they founded in 2022 with the intention of sharing profits with fellow actors and other crew members. Plot details are scarce for “Animals,” but per The Hollywood Reporter the plot will focus on a politician and his wife who must overcome odds to save their kidnapped son.

The duo’s most recent collaboration, 2023’s “Air” marked the first time Affleck directed Damon on screen. However unlike in Air, Affleck will only play a behind-the-camera role.

‘Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story’ documentary set at Hulu

Hulu announced it has acquired the documentary “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.”

There have been numerous Bon Jovi documentaries over the years including When We Were Beautiful, which premiered at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival. However, the four-part “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story” will mark the first-ever docuseries in the band’s history with full cooperation from all past and present members of Bon Jovi.

A description of the docuseries reads (per Hulu): “As thrilling as the story of a once-in-a-lifetime talent is, it is even more rare that a legend like Jon Bon Jovi lets the world into his most vulnerable moments while he’s still living them. Forty years of personal videos, unreleased early demos, original lyrics and never-before-seen photos that chronicle the journey from Jersey Shore clubs to the biggest stages on the planet. The series relives the triumphs and setbacks, greatest hits, biggest disappointments and most public moments of friction.”

Gotham Chopra (“Kobe Bryant’s Muse,” “Man in the Arena,” “Tom vs. Time”) directed the documentary; it is produced by ‘Religion of Sports’, the company founded by Chopra, and Michael Strahan and Tom Brady. “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story” will premiere on Friday, April 26 in the U.S. and will be followed internationally on Disney+ and Star+ in Latin America.
