My Bloody Valentine to embark on 2025 overseas tour

My Bloody Valentine is going on tour for the first time in over a decade, and have added three additional dates to their previously announced comeback with a brief tour of Ireland and the UK.

The group announced three additional shows — dates at Manchester’s Aviva Studios on November 24th, London’s OVO Wembley Arena on November 25th, and Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on November 27th.  The added shows follows MBV’s show at Dublin’s 3Arena announced last year, which sold out within days.

The group released their album Isn’t Anything in 1988, and their most recent project, m b v (2013).  In 2023, frontman Kevin Shields secretly released new music on a flash drive included with a fuzz pedal he produced in collaboration with Fender; and also joined Dinosaur Jr to cover The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven” during a concert in London.

Smokey Robinson shares comment after $50M sexual assault lawsuit is filed against him by four women

Motown music legend Smokey Robinson broke his silence following a civil lawsuit filed by four former employees who have accused him of sexual misconduct. Speaking briefly to the Daily Mail by phone on Wednesday, May 7, Robinson, 85, expressed his shock over the accusations: “I’m in disbelief … I can’t comment on this right now.”

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles on Tuesday, May 6, alleges a series of serious offenses against Robinson, including sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, gender-based violence, and the creation of a hostile work environment. The claims come from four women, identified as Jane Does, who say they worked for Robinson and his wife, Frances Glandney, over nearly two decades. Glandney, whom Robinson married in 2002, is also named as a defendant, with claims that she was aware of Robinson’s past behavior and failed to take action, even after reportedly settling prior cases involving similar accusations. All four plaintiffs, who were employed as housekeepers, also allege they were denied proper wages and overtime compensation.

According to the filing, Jane Doe 1 worked for the couple from January 2023 until she left in February 2024; during that time, she claims Robinson assaulted her on at least seven occasions.  Jane Doe 2 was employed between May 2014 and February 2020; she claims Robinson sexually assaulted her 23 times. Jane Doe 3 worked as a housekeeper for Robinson from February 2012 through April 2024; with claims she endured at least 20 rapes during her employment. Jane Doe 4 says she began working for the couple in October 2006 and resigned in April 2024; serving as a housekeeper, cook, hairstylist, and personal assistant to Glandney. The lawsuit states that in 2007, Robinson sexually assaulted her, and those assaults continued until her resignation.

The women stated in the complaint they chose not to come forward sooner out of fear of losing their jobs, and also due to concerns about retaliation. They are jointly seeking a minimum of $50 million in damages for the physical, emotional, and psychological harm they claim to have suffered.

Attorney John Harris said during a press conference Robinson’s alleged actions were “despicable and reprehensible misconduct. These courageous four women have collectively decided to come forward and share their experiences of being sexually assaulted by Mr. Smokey Robinson and stand up for their rights as well as the rights of other women, particularly those that may be victimized by him in the future.”

Robinson’s attorney Christopher Frost said the complaint as “an ugly method of trying to extract money from an 85-year-old American icon,” adding that his team would be “addressing the numerous aspects of the complaint that defy credulity as well as issues relating to purported timelines, inconsistencies, and relationships between the plaintiffs and others.”

Frost — who is also representing Glandney — said Robinson will “respond in his own words” in time, and “we ask anyone following this case to reserve judgment as the evidence comes to light and all the actual facts of the case unfold We will be asking the Court to dismiss the lawsuit. We will also be asking the Court to address that in their statements to the press about Mr. Robinson, the plaintiff’s attorneys have reached beyond the bounds of liberties that even lawyers are typically allowed in this context.”

3 Doors Down frontman Brad Arnold shares cancer diagnosis

Brad Arnold, frontman and founder of the rock band 3 Doors Down, has revealed that he’s been diagnosed with stage four kidney cancer. As a result of Arnold’s diagnosis, the band’s summer tour dates have been canceled.

Arnold shared in a video message posted to social media: “I’ve got some not-so-good news for you today. So I’d been sick a couple of weeks ago and then went to the hospital and got checked out and had actually got the diagnosis that I had clear cell renal [cell] carcinoma that had metastasized into my lung. And it’s stage four, and that’s not real good. But you know what? We serve a mighty God, and he can overcome anything, so I have no fear. I really, sincerely am not scared of it at all. But it is gonna force us to cancel our tour this summer. And we’re sorry for that. And I’d love for you to lift me up in prayer every chance you get. And I think it is time for me to maybe go listen to [3 Doors Down’s] ‘It’s Not My Time’ a little bit.”

Arnold co-formed 3 Doors Down as drummer and vocalist in Escatawpa, Mississippi in 1996 with guitarist Matt Roberts and bassist Todd Harrell. Rhythm guitarist Chris Henderson joined in 1998 with Greg Upchurch replacing Arnold on drums in 2005. Chet Roberts replaced Matt Roberts on lead guitar in 2012 with Justin Biltonen taking over bass duties in 2013.

3 Doors Down was scheduled to join Creed’s Summer of 99 Tour this year, kicking-off on July 9th. Mammoth, Daughtry, and Big Wreck are also on the bill.

Bruce Springsteen to release ‘Tracks II: The Lost Albums’ box set

Bruce Springsteen will release seven “lost” albums as part of an extensive box set, to be released on June 27 through Sony Music. The collection comes 27 years after Springsteen dropped the first “Tracks” collection back in 1998, though the first edition was demos and unreleased songs, not full complete albums.

The singer announced Tracks II: The Lost Albums, featuring 83 songs across seven different records recorded between 1983-2018. Tracks II will be available in configurations including a 7-CD set and a 9-LP vinyl collection.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Springsteen will also release a distilled edition, “Lost and Found: Selections From the Lost Albums,” with 20 highlights culled from the larger set. That abridged volume will come out the same day in physical formats as a single CD and double-LP.

Springsteen said in a statement: “The Lost Albums were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released. I’ve played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.”

A teaser track, “Rain in the River,” also was released, as well as a two-minute video trailer that includes footage of Springsteen talking about the set, and flashes of the cover art for each of the seven distinct albums and descriptions of those recordings’ origins. Watch that trailer: HERE.

Listen to “Rain in the River” – here.

The box set is available for pre-order now.
