Annette Bening joins cast of ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff ‘The Dutton Ranch’

Annette Bening has joined the cast of the Yellowstone ‘Beth and Rip’ spinoff series titled ‘The Dutton Ranch’ for Paramount+, executive produced by Taylor Sheridan. Chad Feehan (‘Ray Donovan,’ ‘Banshee’) has been named showrunner.

Bening will star opposite Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and Finn Little, who will reprise their original roles. The show is expected to remain on the same present-day timeline as the original series. Bening will play Beulah Jackson, the “powerful, cunning and charming head of a major ranch in Texas.”

Yellowstone followed the Dutton family, a powerful Montana ranching family that controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Beth (Reilly) is John Dutton III’s (Kevin Costner) daughter, a former head of acquisitions at the Schwartz & Meyer financial firm.  Jaded ranch foreman Rip (Houser), who first came to John Dutton as a young boy on the run after killing his stepfather to protect his mother, learned how to be a cowboy from John, who treated him like a son. Yellowstone ended with Beth, Rip and their adopted son Carter (Finn Little) setting off to start their own smaller ranch in search of a peaceful life.

The Yellowstone Universe also includes prequel series ‘1883’ and ‘1923,’ both of which have concluded their runs. Two other upcoming offshoots include: ‘The Madison’ for Paramount+, led by Michelle Pfeiffer as Stacy Clyburn, and ‘Y: Marshals’ for CBS, led by Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. Additional universe entries that were previously announced as being in development include ‘1944’ and ‘6666’.

Bening will next be seen in the Apple TV+ limited series Lucky opposite Anya Taylor-Joy.

Depeche Mode to physically release ‘M’ concert film, live album ‘Memento Mori: Mexico City’

As Depeche Mode gear up to release their new concert film ‘Depeche Mode: M’ on October 28th, the band have announced the physical release for both the film and its accompanying live album, Memento Mori: Mexico City, due out on December 5th.

The concert film will be spread across two discs—available in either DVD or Blu-ray format—alongside two CDs. The first disc features the complete Depeche Mode: M film, which blends live performances with archival clips and additional footage showcasing both the band and the culture of Mexico. The second disc, titled Memento Mori: Mexico City, focuses solely on the band’s live performances from their Mexico City shows, presented in full setlist order. Each bundle will also include a copy of the live album.

The Memento Mori: Mexico City live album will be released separately as a two-CD or four-LP vinyl set. Both editions will feature exclusive photographs from the Mexico City performances.

Depeche Mode: M, directed by acclaimed Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frías,  follows Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, and their touring band through three sold-out nights at Foro Sol. Frías interlaces concert footage with scenes capturing Mexico’s culture, with the film also marking Depeche Mode’s first major tour since the passing of founding member Andy Fletcher in 2022.

Dave Gahan said in a press release of the film: “At its core, our new film ‘M’ is about the deep connection between music, culture, and people — and Fernando Frías, who directed and conceived the film, did a beautiful job telling that story that through the lens of Mexican culture and our shows in Mexico City.”

‘Pluribus’ to premiere on Apple TV+ Nov. 7

Breaking Bad writer-director Vince Gilligan’s new Apple TV+ sci-fi series Pluribus is set to premiere on Friday, November 7, and will air every Friday through December 26.

The nine-episode series stars ‘Better Call Saul’ alum Rhea Seehorn and ‘Sneaky Peak’ actress Karolina Wydra, and is billed by the streaming service as a “genre-bending original” about what happens “when the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.”  Carlos Manuel Vesga, Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte will also appear in the series.

Seehorn shared: “I can’t wait for it to come out, though. Some of the stuff that audiences have loved about his writing, where it’s really rich characters but also him playing with the idea of tropes and genres and tone, and switching, like injected humor in a very dark moment — in this new show, he pushes that to a limit that was both very thought-provoking and upsetting sometimes, and other times, so, so funny. It really swings for the fences. I had so much fun.”
