Scorpions Drummer Mikkey Dee Shares Details Of His Recovery From Coronavirus

Mikkey Dee, the current drummer of Scorpions and formerly of Motörhead, has confirmed that he contracted coronavirus back in April, and has thankfully “fully recovered”.

Dee took to Instagram to clarify his health, after Dokken frontman (and former bandmate) Don Dokken said Mikkey was “sick as a dog” and had lost “35 pounds” having contracted COVID-19 in Australia with his wife. Dee clarified that this was not quite the case, telling fans that “the virus was contracted in Sweden”, and he actually lost 15 pounds. But since mid-April he has been absolutely fan, feeling the effects of coronavirus for “about one month.”

Said Dee on Instagram: “I just want to set some rumours straight regarding Don Dokken’s statement about my corona situation. I did get corona and was sick for about one month. I am now fully recovered since mid April. I was already playing hockey and drums by the end of April. Unfortunately my good friend Don got some info wrong. I did not get corona in Australia, the virus was contracted in Sweden. I did not loose 35 pounds, I lost 15 pounds.

“But as I just mentioned, I am now fully recovered and have [registered] antibodies so that feels great. I can’t wait for things to go back to normal so we can hit the road again. Thank you guys for caring and my heart goes out to each and everyone affected by the current situation our world is in.”

Def Leppard Guitarist Phil Collen “Not 100% Sure” Stadium Tour Will Happen In 2021

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen says that he believes it is a 50/50 chance that this year’s postponed Stadium Tour with Motley Crue, Poison and Joan Jett will happen next summer.

Collen was asked if he is confident the tour will actually happen in 2021, and he responded, “I honestly don’t know. I’d say it’s 50/50. If everyone does what they are supposed to do, then we will be there next summer. literally a week from now, next year, we’ll be out there. I’m really looking forward to it.

He continued, “It depends. It’s not us. It’s like when you’re driving. It’s that thing – it’s not me; you have to watch out for every other idiot on the road. So that’s where we are right now. But we are ready to go.”

Phil also discussed why it took so long to postpone this year’s trek. He said, “It wasn’t just the promoters actually, that was secondary. First off, it was Major League Baseball. We’re playing in their buildings, so that has to be taken care of first, then the promoters. And then we’re down that food chain. So, we are ready for when everyone else is. Absolutely, at the drop of a hat, we’ll be there, good to go. I’ll definitely be ready by then, for sure.”

Halle Berry Apologizes for Considering Transgender Movie Role

After revealing that she was considering the role of a transgender man, Halle Berry received backlash from those who argued that cisgender actors should not play transgender characters. Now Berry has released a statement on Twitter, apologizing for considering the role and announcing that she would withdraw herself from consideration.

Berry first revealed that the role was pitched to her during an Instagram Live with hairstylist Christin Brown. “I want to experience that world,” she said. adding, “I want to understand that world.”

Many took issue with the fact that cisgender actors should not play roles in which they portray transgender people.  Berry wrote in a statement on Twitter: “Over the weekend I had the opportunity to discuss my consideration of an upcoming role as a transgender man, and I’d like to apologize for those remarks. As a cisgender woman, I now understand that I should not have considered this role, and that the transgender community should undeniably have the opportunity to tell their own stories.  I am grateful for the guidance and critical conversation over the past few days and I will continue to listen, education and learn from this mistake. I vow to be an ally in using my voice to promote better representation on-screen, both in front of and behind the camera.”

Asking Alexandria Release ‘Antisocialist’ – Unplugged Version

Asking Alexandria have released ‘Antisocialist (Unplugged)’, a new acoustic version of their current hit single from their latest album “Like A House On Fire.”

The band’s Ben Bruce said: “Over the years we have been known to release many acoustic versions of our songs from a number of albums. Antisocialist has rapidly become our most successful active rock single of our entire career so we wanted to do something special. Instead of just another ‘acoustic version’ of a song we decided to really strip this one back and try and recreate the song as an unplugged version that lives and breathes its own identity.

An unplugged, vulnerable rendition of the song that hopefully allows people to feel like they are in the room with the band whilst we play it. To all of our fans, old and new, we truly hope you enjoy this unique version of Antisocialist as much as we do. We love you.”
