Season 3 of ‘Jack Ryan’ coming to Prime Video in December

Amazon tweeted that Season 3 of the action-thriller series ‘Jack Ryan’ will premiere Dec. 21 on Prime Video. Jack Ryan is based on the Tom Clancy character of the same name, and the series follows Jack Ryan (John Krasinski), a Marine veteran and financial analyst working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Season 3, consisting of eight episodes, will see Ryan (Krasinski) on the run and in a race against time after he is wrongly implicated in a larger conspiracy. An official description reads: “Now, wanted by both the CIA and an international rogue faction that he has uncovered, Jack is forced underground, crisscrossing Europe, trying to stay alive, while preventing a massive global conflict.”

Along with Krasinski, Jack Ryan stars Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly, with Nina Hoss and Betty Gabriel set to join the cast this season.  The series has already been renewed for Season 4 in October 2021, with Michael Peña set to join the cast.

Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine in Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Deadpool 3’

Ryan Reynolds shared on social media that Deadpool 3 will feature Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine, and also shard the sequel’s release date — Sept. 6, 2024.  In the video clip on Twitter, Reynolds speaks to the camera while Jackman walks by in the background. Reynolds asks Jackman if he’ll play Wolverine one more time, with him responding, “Yeah, sure, Ryan.”  Wolverine’s claws slash the Deadpool logo, before revealing the film’s release date.

Deadpool 3 will be the first Deadpool film made since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. Deadpool was part of the X-Men universe at Fox, and introduced Reynolds’ character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and included other character cameos in Reynolds’ films.

Jackman previously stated that 2017’s film Logan was his last appearance as the character. Logan was set in the future, as Wolverine’s powers were declining, so there is room for him to appear prior to the events of that film.

Bruce Springsteen announces soul covers album “Only The Strong Survive”

Bruce Springsteen has announced Only The Strong Survive, a new studio album comprised of 15 soul music covers. The project will be released on CD and 2 LP on November 11th via Columbia Records.

Only The Strong Survive celebrates soul music from the legendary catalogues of Motown, Gamble and Huff, Stax and many more. The album will also feature guest vocals by Sam Moore, as well as contributions from The E Street Horns, full string arrangements by Rob Mathes, and backing vocals by Soozie Tyrell, Lisa Lowell, Michelle Moore, Curtis King Jr., Dennis Collins and Fonzi Thornton.

Springsteen said of the new LP: “I wanted to make an album where I just sang. And what better music to work with than the great American songbook of the Sixties and Seventies? I’ve taken my inspiration from Levi Stubbs, David Ruffin, Jimmy Ruffin, the Iceman Jerry Butler, Diana Ross, Dobie Gray, and Scott Walker, among many others. I’ve tried to do justice to them all—and to the fabulous writers of this glorious music. My goal is for the modern audience to experience its beauty and joy, just as I have since I first heard it. I hope you love listening to it as much as I loved making it.”

Only The Strong Survive marks Springsteen’s first studio album since 2020’s Letter To You. Springsteen will also be reuniting with the legendary E Street Band in February for his 2023 international tour, which to date has sold over 1.6 million tickets across the United States and Europe.
