Dolly Parton joins Mötley Crüe for remake of their classic ballad ‘Home Sweet Home’

Mötley Crüe have teamed up with country music legend Dolly Parton for reimagined version of their power ballad “Home Sweet Home“.

Mötley Crüe shared in a joint statement: “‘Home Sweet Home’ was first released in 1985 as a single from our Theatre Of Pain album. For an icon like Dolly Parton to sing on a song that has not only meant so much to us but to all the fans through the years, is a career high that means a lot to us. We couldn’t be happier to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ‘Home Sweet Home’ in this special way, and we’re excited to share this version of the song with all the Dolly and Motley fans around the world.”

A portion of proceeds from Mötley Crüe and Parton’s new “Home Sweet Home” will benefit Covenant House, a nonprofit organization that provides safe shelter, meals, hope and more to youth who are experiencing homelessness.  The band added: “that we were able to unite with Dolly to raise awareness for homeless youth and the amazing work of Covenant House, which provides them safe housing and care, makes it even more special. We hope you’ll enjoy ‘Home Sweet Home’ featuring Dolly Parton as much as Dolly and we enjoyed creating it.”

Dolly Parton also shared, “It was an honor and a joy working in the studio on Mötley Crüe’s 40th Anniversary re-release of ‘Home Sweet Home’. I was so pleased that they would ask me to sing on such a classic.”

The new version of ‘Home Sweet Home’ is included on Mötley Crüe’s previously-announced singles collection “From The Beginning”, set to drop on September 12, 2025 — the same day the band kicks off their Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM.  The From the Beginning collection spans four decades, with the compilation tracing the band’s storied career from their start on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.  It includes the hit songs “Kickstart My Heart,” “Dr. Feelgood,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” and “Shout at the Devil,” featuring 19 tracks – with the vinyl expanded to include “Afraid” and last year’s “Canceled.”

Watch Killswitch Engage’s video for ‘Aftermath’

Killswitch Engage has premiered the video for “Aftermath,” a track off the band’s new album, This Consequence.

The video was produced and directed by Good Eye: Music Visuals, documents the environmental damage done to the Earth, and encourages listeners to volunteer their time and effort to help out.

Frontman Jesse Leach shares of the track: “‘Aftermath’ is a song about the realization of a tragic event or a war, and the strength it takes to rebuild and the hindsight of the loss, betrayal, and madness that transpired while going through it all. I think we can all relate to this in one way or another. We see daily the tragedies of humanity as well as the destruction of a place we call home. We have taken so much from our planet and ripped the scales in the incorrect direction .. This song is not just a desperate song with a sense of sadness and anger – it is a call to arms. I’m urging my fellow humans to rise above the helplessness and despair. I want people to see we need to put one foot in front of the other and start to rebuild our lives. Be it from an abusive relationship, a financial hardship, a death of a loved one, or mourning yet another disaster unleashed upon the natural world m.. We all have power to create change. To me, this works perfectly with the various organizations we partnered with for this video. We all have a responsibility to the amazing place we call home. All of us can make a difference big or small by just contributing to righting the wrongs and repairing the damage we have inflicted on our planet. Our hope is to inspire others to help contribute to keeping our home safe and clean for future generations. It starts right here and right now with us.”

The band also just wrapped up the Summer of Loud tour with Beartooth, I Prevail and Parkway Drive, which hit cities across North America including West Palm Beach, Dallas, San Diego, Toronto, Denver, and more.

Professional wrestling legend Hulk Hogan dies at age 71

Wrestling legend Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea died on Thursday at the age of 71. News of Hogan’s passing was first reported by news outlet TMZ.

According to the Clearwater Fire and Police Departments, a 911 call was made for a person in possible cardiac arrest at Hogan’s Clearwater Beach home. Hogan was treated by fire and rescue crews before being transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  During a news conference Thursday afternoon, Clearwater Police Maj. Nate Burnside said Hulk died at 11:17 AM, adding that there are “no signs of foul play or suspicious activity.”

Hogan’s professional wrestling career began in the late 1970s, but his huge popularity began in the mid-1980s when he helped Vince McMahon turn the WWE (then WWF) into a national brand, and eventually a multi-billion-dollar company. Hogan kickstarted the pop culture phenomenon with “Hulkamania” after defeating the Iron Sheik for the World Heavyweight Championship in 1984, with his signature bandana and handlebar mustache often copied by fans.

Hogan also had a successful movie career, beginning in 1982 with “Rocky III’” he also starred in the films “No Holds Barred,” “Suburban Commando” and “Mr. Nanny.”  In 2006, he starred for two seasons in the hit VH1 reality show, “Hogan Knows Best,” with his family:  then-wife, Linda, and children Nick and Brooke.

Hulk was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, but was removed in 2015 after a scandal erupted over racist comments he made while being secretly recorded.  After winning a lawsuit against Gawker who published the recording, Hulk was inducted a second time in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020 as a member of NWO (New World Order). The WWE posted on X: ‘WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.’

One of Hogan’s biggest wrestling rivals, Ric Flair (who was one of his closest friends outside the ring), posted on X: “I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend @HulkHogan! Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father! Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be. He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend! 🙏🏻

Hogan is survived by his third wife, Sky Daily, and two children, Brooke and Nick.

Grammy Awards reveals 2 new categories, rule changes for the 2026 ceremony

The Recording Academy has tweaked some of its rules for the 2026 Grammy Awards, which includes a stand-alone category for best album cover.

The academy announced that the best recording package and the best boxed or special limited edition package categories will be combined into the best recording package category, with best album cover spun out on its own.

Eligibility for Best New Artist has been expanded to include artists who have been previously nominated in Album Of The Year, but whose contributions fell below the current 20 percent playing time threshold — allowing for acts who were credited as featured artists on projects that were Grammy nominated for Album Of The Year in a previous awards cycle, to be eligible for Best New Artist consideration.

In addition: the existing Best Country Album Category has been renamed Best Contemporary Country Album, and a new Category, ‘Best Traditional Country Album,’ has been added.

The existing Best Recording Package and Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package Categories have been combined into one single Category: Best Recording Package. A new Category, ‘Best Album Cover,’ has also been added.

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, said in a statement: “The Academy’s top priority is to represent the music people that we serve each year. That entails listening carefully to our members to make sure our rules and guidelines reflect today’s music and allow us to accurately recognize as many deserving creators as possible. As we kick off another exciting GRAMMY Season, we look forward to celebrating the amazing power of music and its ability to bring so many people together.”

The Grammys will be held Feb. 1 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with nominations set to be announced on Nov. 7.
